Mullen was the safe hire when Gator Nation was desperate for a splashy hire (Kelly or Frost). He’s won us doubters over (with a few exceptions) and I think almost all of us are now glad he’s here.

Frost looks to be on track to get Nebraska turned around but Kelly appears to not even care anymore. Definitely dodged a bullet there.

When are dopes like you and Donkey going to realize it's not 2005 anymore? We've been awful for a decade, it's going to take time to get to perennial top-5 classes again. Saying "mehhhh" to the #9 ranked class (ahead of NC-winning Clemson, mind you) is ridiculous.

We're a spot ahead of the defending National Champs (which has an average of around the 10th ranked class over the last 4 years combined)..... who completely dismantled bama (who has what.?. 4 straight #1 classes)... Not only are we a spot ahead of them but they signed 28 or 29 players, to our 25.... so even with 3 to 4 extra signees, we still are ahead of them. Not bad!

Considering the perennial sh!t show we've been for a decade, I'd say we did pretty damn good. YES... we missed on a big defensive lineman, which we need (People do forget we have a big DL coming in via transfer)... We also improved nearly every position on the team. Not to mention, our blue chipper to 3* ratio is now well above 60% for the first time in years.

Mullen is flipping the talent scales on our beloved Gators back to majority blue chipper. To act as if this class is a fail, is insane! Dabo and now Mullen are showing what can be done with top 10 classes. Hell, Mullen did it with sub-par talent this year. He had the best transition class in UF history last year. Top 10 class this year. Does anybody believe our recruiting isn't going to be even better next year??? We'll be back to top 5 classes in no time, probably as early as next year assuming our current momentum continues. BUT... THIS year was a huge success comparative to what we've had in recent years... As so many say, FIU talent with Mac (and below average defensive recruiting...and some major "reaches") or highly rated classes w/ Muschamp but completely unbalanced classes. He's already stated defensive line is a HUGE priority next year and so far he's doing very well in that position for 2020. He'll address what shortcomings he still needs to fill for this roster through the transfer market while he continues to build his team. The future is looking bright boys. Be happy with a Top 10 class and expect top 5 next year and beyond.

The Charles Moore situation is unbelievable. Thank GOD we didn't "land" him. Wow! I said this earlier, but I regret the staff not pushing harder for Dorlus. I think we'll be fine w/ next year's haul, I just hope a couple of those 2020 kids are ready to play in 2020 - at least providing a few quality snaps per game.

Chip Kelly is a disaster out there. Curious how long he lasts there.

I doubt he gets fired before year three. The offense did improve as the year went on, but he's got big problems w/ his lack of recruiting. Much like UF under Butters (we gradually....then quickly became talent deficient) and what is happening at FSU, he can be the best coach in football but without the talent he's a 5 or 6 win coach.

That's exactly what I said. He was a reach. But I'd take the extra heavy DL after only signing one in this class. He'd be a developmental player and hopefully by 2021, when we're short on heavy DL's, he'd be ready to play. That's why I posted what I posted. Not sure how you read it any other way.

I said it was a good class (not mediocre like the ass), and it is. I also said I am happy with the end result (based on the recent history, and where we looked like we were heading), but to call this a “great” class is acceptance of a level I’m not willing to accept.

THIS is why people say Gator fans are entitled... It's one of the things that drove SOS crazy... We were a losing program when Mullen took over 1 1/2 years ago. What he's done is nothing short of miraculous. Nobody is satisfied... we all want better... but this is a good class THIS YEAR... and assuming Mullen continues this trajectory, it'll be top 5 next year.

He's already flipped the roster so we have 60+ % blue chippers again. He's bringing in 1/3 of the 3*'s that Mac did... That's drastic improvement. Considering the sh!t show he took over, I am very willing to accept these results THIS YEAR... and to sit here and feel we are entitled to a Top 5 class one year removed from a decade of boring and bad football is crazy... I'm satisfied with these results because to expect more THIS YEAR is crazy. I'm looking for a top 5 finish next year, which I believe we all want and expect... but it aint happening this year given the circumstances he inherited. It's really that simple.

I really hope Willlllie wins enough for them to keep him. It concerns me that he will only win 3-4 games next year and the noise will be too much for them to keep him. I am aware of the buyout but...

I just read on twitter (Auburn beat reporter Tom Green) that Charles Moore has enrolled at Jones County JUCO.

If he couldn't qualify at Auburn, there's no way in hell he was qualifying at Florida.

This makes Diwun Black look smart for taking a year off from football, doing a little studying, and avoiding being forced to start his career at JUCO.

Just a lot of this kinda stuff from yesterday. So many seem so unsatisfied as if we should've expected more with this class. My point stands. We've been a boring and bad football team since these recruits were in elementary school. Mullen is finding a way to make Florida football fun and energizing again.

Just wish people could celebrate how far we've come in such a short time and then be expectantly hopeful for future classes... But alas! We're sports fans which in and of itself, makes us fanatical ,which lends itself to the inability to look at things analytically or logically... I get it. I'm that way often too...
