DAVIE, Fla. –
Marcus Dumervil is one of the top-ranked uncommitted offensive tackles in the nation. The Ft. Lauderdale (Fla.) St. Thomas Aquinas standout has already taken official visits to LSU and Oklahoma, as well as unofficial visits to Auburn, Florida, Louisville, LSU, Miami, and Tennessee this offseason.
What is next for the 6-foot-5, 305-pound prospect?
“I know I’m going to go to a couple games, couple Miami games,” Dumervil said. “I’m possibly going to take two officials, one to Ohio State and one to USC, and that’s it for right now.”
A recent visit to Florida at the end of July have put the Gators in good position for Dumervil as he heads into the fall.
“I had a great time at Florida. It just showed me the difference between out of state and in-state schools, a different feel and atmosphere.”
While on campus, Dumervil was able to meet with Florida head coach
Dan Mullen.
“Coach Mullen, he obviously wants me to come in and compete for a spot. They are going to have a great year this year by the team and mentality he’s instilling in the players. Overall, they’re really solid and he wants me to be a part of that group.”
LSU currently has the most predictions for Dumervil on the
247Sports Crystal Ball.
“LSU is kind of like down here with the people and the Louisiana culture. I’m Haitian, so it correlates with that and the food and the people and just being in the atmosphere brings you back to south Florida really.”
At St. Thomas Aquinas, Dumervil has teammates committed to Florida and LSU with linebacker
Derek Wingo and offensive lineman
Marlon Martinez. Are the duo recruiting Dumervil to their respective colleges?
“They be battling it out in the locker room about who is better, who is going to win, but at the end of the day, it’s all love, and both places are prominent programs that are going to do great things.”

As the recruiting cycle carries on, when does Dumervil believe he will make a commitment?
“Honestly, I don’t know. I haven’t cut down my list or talked to my parents on when I want to make a decision and stuff like that.”
The 247Sports Composite, an industry generated average, currently ranks Dumervil as the nation’s No. 102 overall prospect and the No. 11 offensive tackle in the 2020 recruiting class.
