This is his first real action in a year and after a major injury. I think you can lighten up on him some. He was great his freshman year and I think we should be patient enough to find out if he can get back there again before throwing him under the bus.
That does not excuse not taking care of the ball. He should be in the dog house (chew his ass and make him run some stadiums) for fumbling on that play.

Beat Franks career high in his first start.

I think Trask is doing a great job given he's never started before, but you have to remember Franks had a running game to help last year. He wasn't forced to throw to move the ball. Trask is being forced to throw just to move the ball so he's going to have higher numbers unless or until the OL decides they want to start run blocking some.

Which makes things harder on Trask. I’m more impressed because of it.

He's doing well. My point is, if you're getting more pass attempts, you probably should be getting more yards too. I'm not a statistician so I don't know how many times Franks was allowed to throw the ball 28 times in one game.

Three times with more than 28 last year, 2 with 27, and 1 with 26. He had his shot and never got there.

I'm not sure of to many games he threw that much in one game. Imo though Mullen didn't trust him to throw the ball. It seems to be the opposite with Trask. I will say this, today was the 1st time under Mullen were the offense was fun to watch. Trask was slinging the ball around and it was exciting. I think I seen 2 passes behind the LOS. It seemed like more than 50% of Frank's passes are behind the LOS which is really boring to watch.

I'll also say it's not fair to Jones that when he comes in the offense once again becomes boring and its behind the line passes. Clearly our Wr's are getting open when they run routes so why not allow Jones to run the same offense Trask is running. That way we really see what Qb is going to be our best option. Imo I think Trask is the best Qb on the team and should have been staring from day 1 this year. Mullen needs to stop being stubborn and play the best option if he's a Fr, So, Jr or Sr. Mullen is bad about playing the player with the most experience instead of best available.

Trask did look poise in the pocket when he had time to throw but he did panic a little under pressure, but that will get better with experience. I'm just happy to see an exciting offense.

Got to give Trask credit for his passing today. He had a good game and just needs to cut the turnovers out some. We have to keep working to get a running game going that will work against the teams coming up on the schedule.

I think Tenn may go 3-9 this season.
He hasnt played since middle school, we have to expect struggles.

I havent seen the game yet but the stats look solid.

If you will actually be objective, you will like what you see.

He threw two terrible picks, although Grimes definitely had a chance at one of them but didn't hold on. Franks was known to throw some head scratchers at times too though so I'm just hoping as Trask gets more live action under his belt, the game will slow down for him and he'll grow out of those bad decision kind of throws. Otherwise, the dude looks like a baller.

He threw one bad pick. As you said, the one to Grimes in the endzone could have been caught and wasn't 'terrible.'

Yes, as he gets more game time (and more focused time in practice and the film room) he should improve his vision and the game should still slow down for him. However, he's a different guy than Franks. Franks wouldn't throw some throws, even when they were open. Other times, often I would say, Franks waited until he saw his man open before he threw it. By the time he did the holes closed. Only his cannon of an arm kept him from having more intercepted passes. Back to the point, Trask is more of a ...gunslinger. I don't love that word for him, but he's more willing to throw it. We'll have much more passing success because of it, but also more exposure to risk.

It's early and the sample size is small, but there's no denying the difference Trask makes.

All Trask has do is not force it. His two picks were forced into double coverage. The good far outweighed the bad today. He is a way better passer than Franks. I am excited to see him get his chance.
