They were also running a prevent defense that basically handed us the short stuff, which allowed for the 7/8 minute drive to effectively kill the game.
Their running prevent allowed us to move the ball, but it was our runnning of the play clock down 30 seconds a play that caused it to take 7 minutes. You just can’t defend Dan on this (and seem rational) as though Kirby baited him into that.
If you want to argue the defense forces it to take 3-4 minutes due to short plays allowed, fine. Not half a f@#king quarter.
A lot of us felt that way. For me it was LSU, when we could have won but hideous coaching decisions did us in. And then UGA, when the team was completely unprepared and the coaching was awful on both sides of the ball in the biggest game Mullen has had to date.Donk has battered fan syndrome. He likes Mullen and secretly thinks he might can do it, and was oh so close to loving again...then UGA.
This is an irrelevant debate now. Mullen has done a nice job pulling the program out of the gutter. The debate is whether or not he can take it to the next level. So for the guys who dont want Dan, who did you want at the time he was hired? All I remember was the huge cry for Chip Kelly
Ole Dorky Dan dont have to croot bc he is a 3 star whisperer.
'Cept he cant win vs Ugly and couldnt win at Cowbell bc he didnt have enough talent.
It is simple. Got it?
If recruiting was where it should be, I would be much more patient.I cant make an opinion on that given its not even 2 full seasons in, but I do like the direction given that this team is not championship caliber talent level right now yet we are still hanging with the big boys. The season we won 4 games, UGA was playing for the NC. You dont change a HC and beat those guys in 2 tries.
Ppl forget that Urban walked into a talented team, Dan did not.
Its gone up each year. We're 10 now and have a good shot at finishing in the top 7.
If Wilson really does get in for the spring and Black (still all Gators) makes here like it seems, wont be as bad as we thought. Losing three wouldn’t be unheard of.You must have missed the 5 kids in the last class that didn't make it on campus?
That’s the rub. I think everyone appreciates the fact that Mullen brought some stability and the “Gator Standard” back. The issue is recruiting, and that has to improve, not by leaps and bounds, but improve nonetheless to compete year in and year out with UGay, Bama, LSU, and even F$U if they make a decent hire. I was 100% sold on Mullen, right up until the first half of the UGay game, now I’m not nearly as sold on him as THE guy that’ll get us back to playing for and winning championships. This is an irrelevant debate now. Mullen has done a nice job pulling the program out of the gutter. The debate is whether or not he can take it to the next level.
My opinion is no, others have a different opinion. Like you. Or, you're simply happy with 10 wins, no championships, and a nice bowl.
He has done absolutely nothing that Butters didnt do, except have Willie on the schedule. That’s the rub. I think everyone appreciates the fact that Mullen brought some stability and the “Gator Standard” back.
I of course don't agree with this, unless you're talking about recruiting, which is similar. He has done absolutely nothing that Butters didnt do, except have WiLLLLLLLie on the schedule.
Im talking about "winning 10 games" that many bray about constantly.I of course don't agree with this, unless you're talking about recruiting, which is similar.
Mullen has worked tirelessly, Butters did not. He didn't give two sh!ts by the end of his first year at UF.
right now we're fighting desperately to steal players from Kentucky and Georgia Tech. that says it all., if the recruiting doesn’t improve.
I think that’s where most folks like Ox, Donk, Durty, and others are coming from, and I completely understand.
