I think the playcalling last night was pretty damn good. I know that many things look good when you play a team as sad as that circus, however we've had plenty of other games against terrible teams and the offense still strufgled. We stumbled and struggled the score at times even against the worst teams.

Jordan The Commodouche said that he had talked with Dorky Dan. DD said a couple weeks ago that he had asked Brian Johnson why are we running all these running place? They aren't working. Stop calling all The running plays.

They also called Johnson Co OC. I thought the co-operative coordinators were Billy Gonzales and Hev.

This seems really odd to me. It certainly looks like Mullins is on the headphones calling a plays.

What say you?

I'm at least glad we figured out the option crap isn't working.

I wish he had taken scoring more seriously instead of whatever he was trying to do there in the second half.

Agree. The most impressive thing Mullen has done to this point is his play calling with a wildly different QB than he’s accustomed to. Trask has done great in making the actual plays. But some of those short passes from the 5 are really nice to see and remind me of some really fun days.

We have a passing offense and a O-line that does a decent job of blocking that, not blocking the run. I'll just put this out here and yall can hate on it all you like. Trask needs to ask what other school he thinks he can play QB because after watching EJ last night and knowing what type of offense Dan really wants to run, Kyle is going to have a difficult time holding his starting job next year.

We are going to be young and perhaps thin at WR and that is going to make the running QB part of Dan's offense even more important. But he clearly can play that position. I hope that not the case because I still think he's our best option for next year but it wouldn't surprise me.

Trask does start the season, but he will be sharing snaps until EJ takes over. It's Franks who should be looking.

I think it was let seniors have their day.
This... in The Swamp, that’s exactly what it felt like. This game felt like it was for the following people, in this order: Seniors, players that might leave, then fans. Embarrassing FSU a distant fourth as it felt like a given.

I’m sure the total game was more fun in person than on TV.

So when are you going to admit you were wrong about Trask your lord and savior? The QB you thought was the worst on the roster actually forced Mullen to play a style you long wanted us to play. You need to start begging that he stays next year.

If Townsend laughing at the failed fake punt didn't clue people in that our team was just having fun out there, I don't know what would.

You could see that on the sideline, it was clearly “take care of business, but let’s have fun tonight.”

oh, and I forgot, third, it was for recruits, then fans

I know the standard is championships, and that we need to start beating Ugly, but I like it when we can stomp FSU while at the same time yukking it up on the sidelines.

You have it backward. Jordan said that in his conversation with Mullen, Mullen said it was Brian Johnson who said to Mullen stop trying to running the ball so much, let’s do what we do best & throw it.

I heard it last night in real time and thought that’s interesting, one of the assistants calling Mullen to the carpet but at least DM listened. Double checked on the replay again this morning and that’s what was said. 11:45 left in the 3rd quarter for anybody watching at home.

If you’re getting your hopes up that Mullen is abandoning the option next year you may want to contain your enthusiasm. :)

Don't think I've ever seen a coach abandon the run with such complete...abandon. Head coaches are a stubborn lot. What's more surprising is that it's working. The defense doesn't have to take away our run game, we already have. And yet, Dan the "sideways offense" coach is winning with the downfield passing game. I never subscribed to the notion that Dan was stuck in "sideways offense" mode. I knew he'd use the tools at hand and argued that point early and often. However, I am a little surprised that he totally stopped trying to run the ball. That takes a boatload of self-realization.
