You guys should be happy, I heard from my source this morning: Napier.

Since the source is always wrong, you guys should rejoice. However, I don't think that's the case this time.

The GNFP guys are really high on Napier. They’re also high on Fickel, and I'm not a fan of him at all, so who knows.

Just seems like a very McElwainish hire to me.

That, and the sling blade thing is hard to overlook.

Thanks @Bait'n Gator

As soon as I heard most of the team suddenly starting following Napier on Twitter, it seemed obvious - someone had told them he was the top target. With Vegas pulling the betting for the next UF coach, it's all over.

I think LSU is going to regret not grabbing him.

He's got Foley in his ear telling him how to do it. With Zook he called Stoops and supposedly Shannahan, before magically deciding on Zook, who was way out of left field. Muschamp was supposedly number 3, but we know it was really his first call. Then came the butters hire. He literally three a dart at a map, hit Colorado and looked at which coach would be cheapest. Not a single person on Earth thought Butters was going anywhere major, but we managed to bid against ourselves. It's like they have to try and find the next "guy" so they can be called a genius, but it's like Wyle E. Coyote always having the anvil drop on his head.

Lane Kiffin is our best option. I don't like it either. But it's true. We all know it's true. It just hurts to admit.

As Camus said, we must embrace the absurd.

Who else is there, really? Napier? Fickell? Cristobal? Aranda? Malzahn? Do you really think any of them are actually better than Kiffin?

Bob Stoops is a pipe dream. If we're going the route of fantasy, we might as well call up Urbs and see if he wants to come back. Jax would probably waive his buyout at this point. Make him fix what he broke. Let him bring us another Ryan Day to be head coach in waiting while he gives us 5 great years.

But outside of fantasy candidates, I don't see a better option than Kiffin.
I wouldn’t take lame to the dog fights if he was the defending champ ‍♂️

The worse pain is the pain of regret.
I could have gotten Lane Kiffin but didn’t.
Now he’s at Miami harvesting all of the top recruits in South Florida and ruling the state of Florida, averaging 45 points per game.
He was there for the taking :-(((((.

I doubt he's going to Miami, and don't GAF if he does. I think we have a guy now that's going to actually work the trail.

Look. Napier might be really good. He may be great. But can we not agree that there are at least 5 or 6 candidates that we can look at first? It’s only been a day!

I really don't know why you think these other coaches have been contacted. I swear, everyone thinks that coaches should be knocking down the door to come here. We're lucky Urban did at the time. He really had no reason to outside of Zook not ruining recruiting here.

As for crappy offenses and Gator History, look at 2006. We really only had one flashy game and that was the title game. In fact our offense nearly lost us a chance at a title shot because everyone wanted a UM/OSU rematch.

I'll say it again, Mullins is gone and I'm going to be happy about it.

Napier was and is the front runner. It might have already happened except for the fact that they did not anticipate Kiffen being as well received as he has been. It has caused a pause as they reassess the risk v. reward with him.

Napier is considered the safe pick although not flashy. Studious, focused with a commitment to running a disciplined, highly organized operation.

Kiffen could flame out or win championships at Florida. He would be a media darling and would generate excitement.

They are struggling with this behind the scenes. Almost polar opposites.

LOL where did you come up with this stuff?

The process is over and there was no pause.

All of this. I've been peaking at Twitter and you have no idea how crazy it is.

The dude literally hasnt even been a successful coordinator (though the same can be said for McElshark and Douchebag Dan but even worse because at least those guys had some rare scattered success when you through piles of talent on them).

Same with TOS. 247 is acting like he’s the 2nd coming. I mean the guy has only been a HC of ULL. They’re acting like it’s a similar path to Urban. It’s not. Urban was wiping the floor with his Bowling Green and Utah teams.
