Unlike Taggart, it seems like Cristobal can actually recruit. I'd rather he stay where he is.
Something about them being out there in all that rain and crap weather does something to them. While they seem to excel with the ducks the wheels seem to come off as soon as they hit there next coaching job. Maybe he'll make me look bad with his work if he takes scUM's job, but I am going to believe he'll be like the rest until I see different. Just my opinion

Don't get me wrong, I think he's a mediocre coach overall. I just worry that he will recruit well enough to cause us problems.

I'd like to see Cristabol go to scUM!!
Maybe he will tank there program worse than Taggert tanked FarseU
It would just make our Holiday season better. Having FreeshoeU and scUM going down farther and farther and hopefully the Gators going up. Come on Billy take us back where we are supposed to be

You understand that if they miss on Mario, they’re likely to hire the next Schwann’s guy that comes by, right? They’re so close to being a complete and irreparable disaster and you want to see them get a possible reprieve?

@BruceFeldmanCFB: SOURCES: Brian Kelly let go of LSU’s longtime strength and conditioning coach Tommy Moffitt, who helped spark the football program to 3 national titles, sources tell me and @BrodyAMiller. Moffitt's tenure began in 2000. He is the first LSU staffer who has been informed he’s out.

Agreed 100%. Cristobal is overrated on the X's and O's side, but his recruiting ability would be formidable, especially in South Florida.

He himself played HS ball in Miami, then played at scUM, then coached at scUM, then coached across town at FIU. He's going to show up at kid's houses in Cane country wearing a Cane championship ring on each hand. "Here, try one on!"

I wonder if Brian Kelly is betting on the SEC going to a pod system? I don't see him beating Saban while at LSU, but he might not have to if the pods line up right.

Either way, he's a consistent 2-4 loss coach every year in the SEC. I'd be surprised if he makes an SECCG, let alone the Playoff.
Here's what the SEC Network thinks the pods would look like.

Pod A: Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, South Carolina

Pod B: Alabama, Auburn, Tennessee, Vanderbilt

Pod C: LSU, Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Texas A&M

Pod D: Arkansas, Missouri, Texas, Oklahoma

Here’s the proposed 9-game conference schedule format:
  • Play the three teams in your pod every season
  • Play two games against each of the other pods
  • Host every team at least once every four seasons
  • The winner of each pod would advance to the SEC semifinals.

I don't want them to do anything good! I hoped Cristabol would do what Taggert did for FarseU and that's all I am saying I don't want them to be anything more than a community college. But getting Mulligan fired was probably all you can ask for in one year! I'll have to wait until next year for more wishes.

Why TF are they calling them "pods". They are literally "divisions". The SEC is going all B10 w/ the stupid naming of divisions.

That's an interesting question/thought. I'm thinking BN brings his guy from ULL, because of the relationship (and he has the resume). But Moffit is legit.

This also goes to the idiots who think Savage is going to be retained. LSU fires a 20 year S&C coach, but we're going to hang onto a kid w/ 5 years experience. Okay....

There will still be an east and west division.

What would you rather they be called?
Subdivisions? :rimshot:

That would actually work well if it weren’t for the idiots who decided it was a good idea to cast off Div 1 and Div 1AA for FBS and FCS.

Edit: Trying to interpret your thoughts behind the rimshot emoji… if we go with “Subdivisions,” do we put Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson in charge of the “Tom Sawyer,” “2112,” “Limelight” and “YYZ” Subdivisions?
