The "Choke" or the "Shush"...Which was more traumatic for you?

you've made this claim twice now and both times I've corrected you for it. The article referencing the alleged criticisms you are speaking about discussed Frank's leadership qualities and compared them to trask. More specifically it discussed their body language to and from the locker to the field during off season practices and who was leading or following the team. It was extremely complementary of Franks starting he carries himself with confidence, head held high, and was leading the team out from the locker while trask was near the back of the pack and blending in. It further indicated mullen viewed this as an indicator of maturity, positively for Franks while not stating anything further about trask, the implication being negative for trask. Hopefully this will be the last time we have to read this fakenews

My friend, read the direct fvvcking quote yourself. I pasted it below just for you. And yes.... I hope it is the last time we need to read fake news. The below posted quote ran 180 degrees from what his teammates and coaches were saying about him at the time. You’re correcting me?...twice no less...come on, man.

Enjoy.

“Funny to see this thread today b/c I havewalked past Franks the past 2 days, once he was by himself and the other time it appeared the team was headed to some type of lightpractice in pajamas. When he was alone, hewas dressed shabbily and walking lazily looking as tho he was floating thru life. With the team, he was near the back of the pack again walking slowly and lazily. This by no means portends that he will not be successful on the field, but outside of a couple of runs and a big arm, he seems to have zero mental acumen for anything, as many havementioned. And it seemed to ring true whenseeing him the past 2 days. I am not saying the guy has to be dressed in business attire, but carry yourself with a purpose, act like you care in your everyday life and perhaps your fortunes might change on the field!”

First time I can remember seeing that. This writer was spot on.

I am trying to forget everything about FF that happened before Mullen got here. I am looking at this past season as being his first year and excited about the upcoming season. The more and more we peel back the butters onion, we reveal exactly how horrible it was and its enough for me to disregard much of what our players did during that time.

That’s really the point. We had a kid from a tiny HS with very little if any high level coaching in his life and very weak competition. A year later he’s in the SEC no less. He’s as raw a QB as you could find. Instead of acknowledging this we basically label him a retard after a disastrous freshman year. Then a real coach comes on board and the same kid...coached up for the first time ever...has a nice season with 24 tds and just 6 int. Runs for another 7. Goes 10-3 and wins a major bowl game. Yet here we are. Guess what? He’ll be even more improved this year. If he gets beat out by EJ...God bless us because that means we have an even better QB out there.

The only problem is at the same time (as Dirty commented)....others...including his teammates and coaches....were seeing something very different. This is why he won the starting job during August.

You don't know that. QB's regress all the time, especially after defenses get more film on them.

He won the starting job because we didn't have anyone else worth a ****.

The Franks "shushing" thing didn't really bother me although I felt that it was a bit immature.
However, when you consider what he had been through up to that point coupled with the emotions of a young athlete in a very intense game, then I can give him a pass on that one. I didn't like it, but what is important is that he backed it up--he elevated his play and his team.
The "choke" thing by Grantham was classless in typical dwag fashion; it was immature, rude, and unsportsmanlike. But that's what dwags do.
But Grantham coaches for the good guys now, and I doubt that Mullen would tolerate such behavior.
If Grantham helps us to win a championship, then I doubt anyone will hold that against him.

I trust DM’s statement before this season that our qb’s will be far better after a year in his system.

He won the job because of the leadership he displayed during fall practice. It was the key point of separation at that stage of the season.

This year the competition will be far greater which bodes well for us.

...He can be one serious turd that makes it hard to root for him. Hopefully he’ll act like a grown up and a leader this year, at least until he’s benched.
And cut that puss-bush off his chin

I'm not sure what you'd expect him to say - that he thinks his players will regress? It's coachspeak nonsense.

We'll see what happens. I was only making a point that QB's often regress in their second year of a system. Dak Prescott at Dallas was a perfect example. Awesome rookie year....then the defenses got film on him and he became a mediocrity.

Plus, Franks isn't exactly the sharpest knife, let's face it. He could be the first QB ever to score a negative number on the Wonderlic.

He won the job because of the leadership he displayed during fall practice. It was the key point of separation at that stage of the season.
Link? My opinion is that he won the job because he was the only one with starting experience. It was an easy decision.

It wouldn't totally surprise me to find out someday if Trask's convenient injury right when he was about to start was some kind of foul play, engineered by Franks.
It was a suicide by Trask. The fear of actually getting on field overcame him and he went home and bashed himself in the foot w a hammer.

Third injury in three years. Dont think Ive ever seen someone get hurt that much whilenwearing a no contact jersey and carrying a clipboard.

And the shush was his way of telling anyone who knew to keep their mouths shut. You could be onto something here.

***.
In general I agree with this comment however I don't think it will apply to Franks this season. I think we all agree that Franks doesn't do anything particularly well so there's not much to scheme against. What tendencies does he have other than to overthrow the bomb? I can't think of a strength that can regress. That's not a slam on Franks. Maybe it's a compliment to Mullen for not asking him to do anything exotic.

I can't think of a single player that has been treated as poorly as Frank's. I mean the boos are one thing, but the insults hurled at him just from my section was enough to make me react the way he did. I sit nine rows up right behind the bench and the drunk behind me was relentless with his "you f^<king suck Frank's" onslaught to the point I had to call the guy out for his language around kids, and that is just one guy.

As for Grantham I hated his guts until the sack at MSU on the last play of the game, but I'm still not sold that he is that great.
