Recruiting 2020 Recruiting Thread: Gervon Dexter gets 5th Star on Rivals

Its not really a fight of 4* vs 5*. Top recruits of the high 4* guys succeed at almost the same rate. It is just a beauty pageant at that point. Im Im talking the 5.9 or 6.0 guys on Rivals. Top 100ish players. Out of this class, we are currently talking Dexter, Ringo and Manuel (pretending he qualifies).

Unfortunately the stats suggest the low 4s and high 3* are about the same.

We had eight of these last year but three didnt make it.

Getting Dexter, Goods, Brown and then adding Lee and Smith would be a fantastic restocking of the interior line. Brown is sized like a child compared to that much bulk.

Question for the guys who really know/follow this stuff: Where is Brown's future position? Do they see him putting on 50+ pounds to play inside or not that much and being more of a Strongside end (or what ever it's called in our system)? And please @Swamp Donkey no comments about him playing inside at 250# because that's what choker does!

the truth is I don't know.

At Ugly the Choker played three 300 lb guys on the line in a true 3-4. any of the linebackers might blitz on any play there wasn't like a designated Rush linebacker, though the Buck - Jack was the one to move up if they played a 4-3. Very classic Saban.

If he struggles to put on weight he'll likely be a Buck. If he puts on expected weight he'll likely play SDE. He's super athletic, so I'd love to see him gain weight and play SDE - giving us a freak at the position.
