Honestly you dont need great arm to be a college QB. Some nfl qbs even have weak but accurate arms.

It is the internet forums that get hung up on big arms and tall.

Why, there is even a statue of one outside Florida Field.

Franks might've a strong arm but it's not an accurate arm. Nor is he good at the short and medium throws. He's often late in his passes or overthrows. His timing is just off. Not to mention that he does not process the field well. Is EJ better as a passing QB? That remains to be seen. Is he a better runner? We will also see. Just because he was a DT QB in HS does not necessarily make him a better runner in college. We will see what they do in the spring game and practices.

Allow me to retort:

You are a better runner in college than Franks. Even if you are not in college. Even if you are in a wheelchair.

Couple of QB names:

Haynes King, Longview, TX
Passing: 3879 yds, .692 completion rate, 21.1 yds/compl, 42TD, 4 Ints
Rushing: 664 yds, 8.6yds/att, 8 TD:

Tucker Gleason, Plant HS, FL
Passing: 2001yds, .593 percentage, 27 TDs, 9 Ints
Rushing: 1097 yds, 9yds/att.,13 TD

Tucker Gleason on Hudl

Both are DT QBs and both can throw and can run. Gleason just committed to the Yellow Jackets.

Well, this is a start. I disagree. I think that Frank's will surprise everyone with his running, but his passing will show little improvement if any.

Whether FF surprises us or not is irrelevant. There is NO WAY he’s a better runner than EJ.

Hayes King ... eye popping stats. 42 TDs vs 4 ints? 70% completion? 20 yards per completion? 9 yards per carry? WTF. How much will it cost? Sign him, his kids and grandkids.

I'd like to see us go after someone like that Haynes King kid that's put up some video games like numbers than another project type of QB.

Running: 924 yds, 9.7yds/att, 16 TD

Nick Fitzerald:
Passing: 1767yds, .516 completion rate, 6.3yds/att, 16 TDs, 9 Ints

So youre saying Fitzgerald was always shyt. AR's 18 yards per attempt (which means more than twice that per completion?) shows he is likely completing some very long passes. Fitzgerald averaging 6 yard means he was missing screen passes in HS too.

So is this someone we are pursuing strongly or just another guy from Texas who will sign with Oklahoma or Alabama?
Have we replaced the Director of Player Personnel? I'm not sure we have a plan of who we are pursuing.

Wasn't that basically the Tebow mold, nothing really intermediate. Mostly short passes or bombs?

Those are Fitz's numbers from last fall.
These are the stats for his Junior year:

Passing: 671yds, .423 completion rate, 20.3yds/att, 11TDs 4 Ints
Rushing: 1517yds 8.5yds/att, 25 TDs

Didn't Tebow average 9.2 yds/attempt? That's actually pretty decent average for college. The CBs and safeties are much better in college.
