That's about what the NFL guys look like doing their reps (they call them "gym reps" or something like that). There's been multiple studies that convert number of reps at X weight = Y max. I'd guess he could do well over 360lbs, which is admirable for a HS senior. He looks lean for 300lbs, which is good. Hopefully he's athletic enough to play OT.

"About the Test

The athlete sets up for the test by laying on his back, flat on the bench, and placing his hands on the barbell at shoulder width. The goal is to press 225 pounds of weight as many times as possible. The rules are simple: The bar must touch the chest, the elbows must straighten completely at the top, the butt must remain in contact with the bench and the hips may not rise up during the upward press motion. A spotter is necessary for safety, due to the athlete testing until muscular failure."

How things have changed

Both my sons attended Bloomingdale 12-15 years ago and this was the best academic high school in Hillsborough county and THE WORST football program in the county
Any player with potential would transfer to another school to have the chance to get a scholarship
There were no Phillip Riley talents anywhere on that campus
