The Florida Gators landed a key piece to their recruiting class Friday afternoon when Tampa (Fla.) Hillsborough Top247 defensive lineman Zachary Carter announced his commitment to the in-state program.

The 6-foot-5, 250-pound Carter picked the Gators over the Clemson Tigers in a very close recruitment.

Carter becomes the ninth pledge in Florida’s 2017 recruiting class and the third defensive linemen.
