Exactly, I wasn't insinuating the fan base was pitch forking, just that he created a "monster" that wanted to be fed. I believe that he really didn't enjoy the expectations and/or the grind to attempt to meet them.
The wife blames Eason, lol
Likewise, In-laws are huge Huskies but I don’t think the hammer was coming down after this season’s record, just a set back. Didn’t he lose a bunch last year early to the draft?

Colorado say hi as well. But they’re mostly stoners, so forgetfulness is very accepted.

And yes, UW has been a powerhouse before and has a ton of the earmarks of a great program, especially when USC, UCLA and to a degree Oregon are down, which they have been during his tenure.
Did he win the East?

I’ve heard many a UW fan not happy with Peterson after the CFP year. They do tend to lose a game or two every year to someone they shouldn’t, but that has usually been the case with them way before Peterson. I don’t think he was going to get canned this year, but the noise was getting loud and the perception is that he cant take the pressure. Now the fan base seems generally happy with hiring the guy from within, vs going after the splashy hire. Hard figure out these finicky granola munchers and techies.
