Well if there is 1 thing we know about Butters it's that he knows how to recruit those Florida three stars. But convincing them to play in the middle of MI for the next 4 years will be tough.Butters hosted a recruiting weekend, they have a handful of commits from Florida and former Tenn QB Quinten Dormady is looking to transfer there (wtf?) - he's already going the grad transfer route:
'It was a blast': CMU commits react to meeting new coach Jim McElwain
Upon hearing of McElwain's hiring, Plant City (Florida) Durant three-star cornerback Demarcus Governor said the Chippewas would have "big plans" going forward under McElwain. Just a week after learning of McElwain accepting the job, Governor said he is already close with the new coach in Mount Pleasant.
"(McElwain) is a stand-up guy and his presence alone sets the standard of embracing our brand and controlling our destiny," Governor said.
Three-star wide receiver Javon Gantt from Westside High School in Jacksonville, Florida, made the trip to Mount Pleasant to solidify his commitment to play for McElwain. Gantt was ecstatic due to McElwain's talk of the "brotherhood" within the CMU football program.
"Coach (McElwain) is a cool dude," Gantt said. "He wants the best for all of us, and we are going to do that."
That is a solid hire by k state.@DanWolken: Source: Kansas State is nearing deal with North Dakota State’s Chris Klieman to be its new head coach, person familiar with the situation tells @usatodasports.
Mike Yurcich: "There's Nothing Going On" with Vols' OC Job | RTII'd not heard that.
Butters is probably trying to lure Nord off his easy chair.
@ByBerkowitz: How former Colorado head coach Mike MacIntyre takes $1.5M per year defensive coordinator job at Mississippi and still preserves all of $10.3M buyout from CU, with @Schrotenboer: How a fired Pac-12 head football coach is getting millions more as an Ole Miss assistant via @usatoday
I personally hope so. I don't think he got a real fair shake hereButters is probably trying to lure Nord off his easy chair.
