DC Patrick Toney & the Defense

I cant hold the DC accountable when he has players in position to make a play and they miss the tackle. Look at the bad snap they had, QB had time to pick the ball up, make Cox miss (again) and be able to roll out to throw it away saving them from a huge loss.
Same vs UT on 3rd n long with the EZ to their backs, Sends Cox on a blitz up the middle untouched for an easy sack, QB moves a step to his left and Cox runs right by him then they get a big completion for a long scoring drive.

Like I said before, the same players playing bad for Toney (Dean, Cox, Burney ect) are the same ones who played bad for the last 2 DCs we had last season.

Were still having tackling issues and letting plays get to the outside too frequently....LBer's are ok against the run 80% of the time but still lack reaction and depth in coverage. Were now 6 games in and while I'm not letting the DC off the hook I still see an overall lack of SEC caliber players on all 3 levels of the defense and some leftover bad habits from a few that have been here long enough to know better. I'd almost rather see a bunch of younger guys take their lumps over the next 6 games.

The defense flashed at times to get those 3rd n longs, they just botched the finish. Plus being on the field over 35 minutes plays a factor as well.
