Casarecce with chorizo poached shrimp, tomatoes, and basil. Turns out my daughter is not a fan of Spanish Chorizo. Who knew? The rest of us ate her share.

I don’t generally like much southern food. But fried okra is my favorite and I would eat that entire plate. Love that it’s not cooked into oblivion and still has its green color. Also not totally caked with breading, which lets it be the star. Incredible looking plate.

We use fish fry mix for the coating.

Kroger had brisket on sale for $2/lb. Cooked one in the oven this morning (not my preference but we no longer have a smoker) and I have one that I’ll grind up for hamburgers. Extremely tender but it didn’t have enough seasoning. Timing was perfect as the son had a slew of kids over so they ate sandwiches, Mac and cheese, bbq beans and watermelon.

Fine. This is the best I can do to convince you of a dinner that I didn’t take pictures of.

Here’s a picture of some of the leftovers.

Not much watermelon left

This is the brisket that I’m going to grind into hamburger tomorrow.

And there’s a bunch of random shoes in our mud room this morning so I’m assuming there’s still a slew of kids down there because they woke me up at 2am.

And then later we went to the moon but they were sold out of llama so we left.

Happy?

Exactly. The wife and I went to the moon tonight and had grilled space llama(mine was slightly over cooked), but oh darn we too forgot to take pictures.

See how that works, CD?
I hate to hear yours was not properly cooked - that sucks. You've built up some cred around here, so I'll take your word for it despite the lack of pics. @CDGator on the other hand? Not a chance, errybody knows how sus she can be.
