What are the drones biting these days?

Nice Marathan trip, the weather has really sucked so far this year. Way to go roughing out a couple of days and get some meat in the box.We had a pretty good go in Marathon last week. It's never easy picking dates to book these trips and unfortunately the forecast didn't look good for us this year. We decided to get beat up on the first day in 6 foot seas as it wasn't going to get any better. We managed 4 dolphin and 2 blackfin that day. Serious conditions, short period swell, whitecaps and spray everywhere. We took a beating. It felt good to produce something. Striking out would have added insult to injury. Then we got shut down for 5 days with 7-11 foot seas and 30 knot winds. Crazy, constant, steady winds where the palm trees looked frozen sideways. Gulfside was a wreck also. We gave it a go in the cuts for some small snapper and sharks, but it was mostly a drinking trip at that point. We managed to "survive" a Coast Guard boarding at some point. But we finally got our redemption on the last day when conditions lightened up a bit. Solid action all afternoon on dolphin and blackfin. Lost one dolphin to a shark, one on the gaff ("what an idiot"), and a huge bull on a line break, but we more than filled the box. That last tuna was a fatty. Great ending to a tough trip.
Here's the spider-filled tree that was just behind me.....I was trying not to brush against it.
Went to the spot this morning. For the fun of it, wore my GoPro on a chest mount, expecting to capture my first 10-pound bass. Fail. Still had fun, but nothing spectacular. Best fish was the last one in the video, around 2.5, maybe 3 pounds.
Is that Tahoe in the background? Gorgeous.
Looks like a freaking post card. Nice fish, too.@'78 That's Lake Lahontan. Those are white bass. Not me, I'm better looking. That's NDOW.

Caught these Sunday at Sisters Creeks which is essentially the intercoastal and tributaries near the mouth of the St. Johns River. My tackle was a little light for the 28" red. After he spins me around to the right at about the 23 second mark you can see him splash off my right shoulder. Then he proceeds to rip off about 30-40 yards of line while i'm trying to tighten my drag. You can see his wake when he does this and you can see him splashing back and forth off in the distance. Then the mug runs straight at me and I'm reeling in line as fast as possible. Great Fun! Catching a good redfish is always an adventure.

Did you actually weigh those bass or are you estimating the weights?Hadn't been out to the pit in a while so I took the Wife and Son yesterday. We got over 20 including a 6#, 7# and 8#. Got them all between 11AM and about 3.30PM. Not bad for a few hours while relaxing on a pontoon boat .
I'm uncannily accurate with guesstimating fish weights and usually underestimate by about 1/4 to 1/2# compared to a Boga Grip I used to keep on my flats boat. BUT if you are questioning the size/weights then consider for reference I'm 6'3" 250#.....The fish my son was holding was a solid 4.5, he's 5'2" and 140#.Did you actually weigh those bass or are you estimating the weights?
