If Butters is still here next year, this isn't a guaranteed W. They put up 23 on Alabama....

Mike Bobo, Colorado State eyeing Mountain West crown

Midway through conference play, the Mountain West is up for grabs, and Mike Bobo’s Colorado State program has positioned itself well for the stretch run.

After two 7-6 seasons under Bobo, the Rams are 6-2 overall and 4-0 in conference play this year. Since a 41-23 loss at Alabama in Week 3, the Rams have won four in a row, and that game was a key turning point.

“Even though we didn’t win the game, we did some good things at times, and our guys gained a little confidence,” Bobo told The All-American. “The other thing is we had a bye week after that. With three of our first four against Power Fives, we were a little bit banged up from those games. We got a chance to sit back and get rested, get healthy and then get a plan going forward. The bye came at a great time.”

But, but, but, he's playing w' McElwain's recruits....

Bobo won't be there. He's the next coach at tennessee. Cooter just needs a few more years before hes an NFL coach so they can forget that.

FIFY.

This was actually a smart move. We pay Geographical Louisiana or Missouri $1 mil or more to play anyway. I suspect someone other than Fooley came up with it.

A smarter move would have been to have offered CSU this $2 million game and have McElwain pay them $1 million and see if keeping McElwain was worth passing on $3 million to CSU. I wonder what they would have done?
