Through my orange and blue glasses I see that we are not in the triple digits in offense categories that we use to be. Through my love of the Gators I would really like to see us improve on the Red Zone Offense, penalties, and first down conversions.

What were we before the last game and our 8 false starts?

We're not scoring as many TDs as I'd like, but how many are more than 20yd plays?

I get it, we're not there yet. That's been obvious for awhile. But we're not where we've been the past 7-ish years, either. We've improved. We're not there yet, but we have indisputably improved.

...The middle of the road is trying to find me
I'm standing in the middle of life with my plans behind me
Well I got a smile for everyone I meet...

Seems kinda where we're at.

I asked, so I looked it up:

UMASS = 12yd pass / 40yd FG / 49yd FG / 26yd pass / 48yd FG ||| 1 Red Zones with no score (downs)
KY = 3yd run / 78yd pass / 54yd FG / 5yd pass / 26yd pass / 4yd run / 28yd pass ||| 1 Red Zones with no score (end of game)
UNT = 22yd FG / 6yd run / 2yd run / 20yd run / 1 yd run ||| 2 Red Zones with no score (downs, downs)
TN = 3yd pass / 15yd pass / 1yd run / 10yd pass ||| 0 Red Zones with no score
VAN = 4yd run / 42yd FG / 26yd FG ||| 1 Red Zones with no score (end of game)
MIZZ = 53yd FG / 24yd FG / 39yd INT / 78yd INT / 20yd pass / 33yd run / 44yd KOReturn ||| 2 Red Zones with no score (missed FG, fumble)

Net of Red Zone performance:
Scoring in red zone opportunities = 14/21 = 67%
TDs in red zone opportunities = 14/21 = 67%

Plus 5 'explosive' TDs on offense of 26+yds

Here's a bonus takeaway from what I found. Of those missed 7 opportunities in the red zone:
2 were end of game running out the clock
3 were turnover on downs (Mac going for it) against Umass and UNT
1 missed FG (against MIZZ, only time Mac went for 3 in red zone)
1 fumble

I don't think that's too shabby.

Also, we have Eddie at 19/19 XP and 9/12 FG. How many years since we could say that?

Yep, we've had worse stats in our past.
All "Gator fans", all recruits are being confused and stalled by our various uncertainties.
Anyone following our mal-trajectories of progress, us fans yeah, but how about recruits making
their biggest yet life opportunity decision.?? Mac & crew are making coming to UF a hard sell.
Probably, UF's biggest improvements need to be in coaching ?

Weren't we sold that Mac was an Offensive Guru? Have not seen it yet. Even with Grier at QB our total offense was not below 50.

That's not a bad barometer. Pumpers like myself keep pointing to the fact that we are no longer triple digits in offensive rankings, but to your point we're not breaking the top 50 yet either, which means real defenses will keep you out of the endzone. We have had glimpses of better offense, more thought into the play calling (the scripting, at least), but we're still not where we need to be. If we move past last year and the issues of OL, WR, and QB and focus on this year, I think you're right that we should be seeing better offense. I'd pump the line about it only being his second year, first with this QB on the field, and we have improved - but you are right in that we aren't where we should be under such a guru, with a QB that's been in the program over a year, and with the upgrades we've made at WR and OL (not top tier, but better). We have improved, we have not shown enough improvement, however.

Going from 100+ to the 50s with our depth issues is pretty darn impressive to me. Sorry to all the haters who can't see what an uphill climb Mac had when he got here. No depth ANYWHERE except at DB, and even that depth wasn't too talented imo. The dude has a LOT of roster filling to do, and he can only give out so many scholarships per year.

It's nice to see us out of the triple digits but then that's not surprising in comparison to the product put out by Chump. After 4 years in the 100's, 50 is a heck of an improvement. The other thing that's noticeable is the passing efficiency. Fix that and we'd be in a much more comfortable position.
