As I have mentioned, White is the son of and the brother of athletic directors and he coaches just like one.
As a result, he is as smooth as an AD with the media, it's the whole basketball thing he seems to struggle with.

Not to specifically defend White, but if your offense is either inconsistent or just bad, you’d better be able to play solid defense if you want to have even a chance to pull out a W at the end of the game.

Nembhard gained a lot of confidence playing with the Canadian national team over the Summer, and by all accounts was ready to take over leadership of the team entering the season.
Then Blackshear transferred in, and White was enamored with KBJ’s leadership and experience, and determined that the offense should run through KBJ.
On top of that, White has periodically moved Nembhard to the SG position and given the PG assignment to the two freshmen.
This has resulted in the 3 sophomores struggling at times, because Nembhard-Johnson-Locke had pretty good chemistry where Nembhard would feed into Johnson if a cut to the basket was available, or to Locke if the defense was collapsing towards the basket. If both were covered, Nembhard was comfortable taking a midrange jumper or occasionally driving to the basket. That was pretty much Florida’s returning offense from last year.
With the instruction to run the offense through KBJ, coupled with Mann or Glover at the point, the returning offense is non-existent, and the team hasn’t really found anything to replace it with. KBJ hasn’t figured out how to take advantage of the weapons he has, and the team hasn’t figured out who to trust with what yet.

These Gators have reached their bumbling offensive attack by rehearsing the Mike White "maybe I shouldn't philosophy." Practicing blindness. No Gator even looks for his cutter --- wait, there is no cutter. What gives?.... well the give & go gives points but White's players aren't taught that for if they were, these are the type-skilled speedy stars that would be using it. (I've seen Payne give & go with his receiving-hand held above the crowd. As soon as he gives the ball his teammate doesn't even consider Payne as a choice. Only coaching-talks with negligent practicing can erase that natural thinking of these h.s. all-stars.
How can White not deserve anger from boosters & fans? How does he earn $4 million a year for doing this to UF? How will UF ever again get top recruits? Remember, the start of the season is when March Madness teams build their superior W-L records and, by practice & game-play iron out flaws. Time to iron out Mike White.

Wow I see that UNC is currently in the first 4 out category in Bracketology. Shocking for a basketball powerhouse like UNC with a top shelf coach and roster full of 5*s.
