One advantage that defense had in 2007 was the pressure our offense with Tebow and Harvin placed on opposing teams. Even in some of our losses, we were able to force turnovers, in large part because teams were forced to take risks to keep up. We don’t have that advantage this year. The longer teams can stay balanced, and in the base game plan, the more difficult it is to stop them offensively.
Good point. But I'm not talking about W-L.
If, in 2007, our offense forced teams to throw more, then more pressure would have happened on our DBs and DL. Yet they got better as the season progressed.
IIRC, 2007 offense was a big play offense BNs offense has 5-10 min drives, so this years defense may be on the field less? Who knows... that's getting to far in the weeds.
IMO, W-L isn't the criteria for a rebuild. It's the progression of each unit ( OL, DL, CB, S, LB, WR).
I guess a lack of depth is a contributor.
