My favorite part:
Florida State joined with Barney Fife and the rest of the Tallahassee Police Department to bury or ignore the serious charges

Roll the dice. Worst case scenario, should you win another national title and have to give it up someday because Winston actually might not be telling the truth, everyone would know you won it on the field, and lost it later to the despised NCAA. So that almost counts as a win-win, right?

This is what I was thinking. They're just going to go for it this year, and if they get stuff vacated later, so be it.

How much money did USC make for the three years with Reggie Bush, compared to what they lost. They are not the only ones to make similar decisions, but no one university has stooped so low in the morallity of making such decisions. This might be worse than Nebraska in the mid 90s' because at least they did suspend Phillips for a couple of games.

The hypocrisy of the PC mothership network is also wearing thin. Brennan's article openly states the obvious but the talking heads are reluctant to call it what it is. After reading the NYT article I had to take a shower. The school and the police are sleazier than Winston if that is possible. But Bobby taught them well.

Why would someone innocent need such massive institutional & authoritarian out-of-protocol protection?

Still astounded at how absolutely certain Jimbo states Rapeis' innocence each time. He's either a complete fool or he's sold his soul.

Well Jameis told him he's innocent, and he's a model of perfect honesty.

You can. However, in criminal trials there are numerous protections for the criminal defendant who invokes their right, including the judge instructing the jury that it cannot be used against him or her. In civil cases, you get none of those rights, the victim can use the lack of testimony against the defendant. Additionally, there are remedies if the civil defendant refuses to comply with discovery (such as depositions) which can include things like striking their responses or even summary judgment.

If you are really interested, here's a summary: http://www.martindale.com/corporate-...e__1225078.htm

Brennan has written some pretty caustic articles before, but she nails this one. FSU is in full CYA mode in regards to public opinion, but not having much luck in regards to the facts of what has happened and the time line that they are responsible for. And that is what is going to bite them in the ass ultimately...the lack of timely response and investigation and the lack of institutional control. The fact that other schools have immediately taken action on a variety of other incidents contributes to the picture Brennan has painted, but the elephant in the room, in my opinion is Title IX. They have a campus wide reputation for inaction...assisted by the local police departments...and it could be ugly for them.

Just saw on the espn bottom ticker fsu has reinstated a linebacker that's been out all season (don't wanna even think about what he did). Just in time for their only ranked opponent.

At Bizzaro State U, he was probably caught helping an old lady cross the street.

Exactly, Rapeis wasn't even there and has alibi witnesses from the football team........ unless you have DNA evidence.
