We can probably merge this with the Foley thread.

Chip Kelly had a little bit of Tebow love yet still cut him. I do wish Driskel the best and hope he makes the 49ers roster.

Despite the headline that some editor put in, the story is saying that Driskel might make the roster.

Driskel will make the roster, I'm pretty sure. Well, relatively sure. Somewhat sure......:ugh:

this would be yet another example of muschamp being the worst coach in the history of college ball.

The article says this

"Although it’s unlikely that Driskel will get meaningful game action as a rookie, he has the size (at 6-4 and 234 pounds) and speed (4.56 seconds in the 40) to contribute as the personal punt protector"

A personal punt protector? Their punter must be important to have his own body guard.

What's so interesting about this is that's almost exactly what was written about Tebow when he was trying out for the Eagles.

I'd bring in Tebow. Then you'd have double trickery on punts.

Kelly does have a history of liking terrible QB's, so this doesn't surprise me at all.

I'd pay straight cash homey to see the look on Dipshiitskel's face when they hand him his volumes and volumes playbooks.

Maybe they will give him a look at slot receiver. It worked for Jordan Reed.

Yep, and Kelly ended up only keeping 2 quarterbacks. Driskel is currently #4.

Doubt he makes it in the long run, but hope he can stick long enough to get a nice paycheck or two before he has to start looking for some real work. Great kid. Loads of skill. Just not quite quick enough in the thought processing under pressure skills for a big time QB. It happens.

They drafted him as a project athlete. i'm sure they watched game film so they know what they are dealing with. This camp won't be critical at least if they see enough promise at any position to keep him on the practice squad.

Isn't Driskel the greatest practice player in history... of course he will look good in camps and games.
