POLL: What will be our run/pass ratio?

For the record, we ran on 91% of the plays versus Georgia. I am just wondering if we believe that we

For the record, we ran on 91% of the plays versus Georgia. I am just wondering if we believe that we will run nearly all the time, most of the time, more than half the time, or less than half the time. Feel free to comment on what would be the "best" run-pass ratio . . .

Something tells me we'll keep it very conservative

We are still going to have to pass some. Running like that usually doesn't work that great for more than a few games for most teams. Heck we ran all over FSU in 2012 and then couldn't run worth a dang against Louisville.

I think Muschamp tells Roper to "let em have some fun". And they will!

I think it'll be around 60/40, 65/35. Vanderbilt's bad enough to give us some leeway with how we want to run the offense this week.

I'd say about 50 runs and 20-25 passes. Hopefully they go up tempo so they can maybe get 80 offensive snaps. Would like to see a 2 minute drill with exclusively dropback passing. The key will be having success early and grabbing a lead.

Muschamp will have to get Treon Harris throwing the ball because he not only has to beat Vanderbilt, he has to make this team more one dimensional in order to get ready to play South Carolina and FSU. Vanderbilt is a weak sister this year, but still an SEC team so this is the best opponent for Muschamp and Roper to have at this time in order to devise a more multi-dimensional offense. Even if Muschamp sees he can run it down Vandy's throat and win, he can't just call all running plays with FSU waiting for us down the road. Muschamp needed to beat Georgia to keep from getting fired and his team giving up on him. Obviously, the team hasn't given up on Muschamp by the way they played against Georgia. With Georgia, the goal was to beat Georgia. Mission accomplished. Now the goal is to beat Vanderbilt, but develop the offense to beat South Carolina, and dare I say it, beat FSU. So I see it about how Sas sees it, 65-35 or so.

What is this up tempo thing you speak of?

We won't pass more than 10 times. You guys thinking we're going to "open up the offense" are smoking dope. Honestly, why would you come to that conclusion? It's certainly not based on history.

He's going to play it as safe as he possibly can to win. If that means no passing at all, so be it. Muschamp teams never do things in preparation for future games. Or does someone have an example that I've forgotten?

I think it's 80-20 or 75-25. 6-10 passes for 70-120 yards.

The only games where we came in with a plan kind of different was probably the 2012 FSU game and the 2013 Miami game but even in that FSU game we went back to Muschamp ball (which happened to work one of the few times) when the game had turned towards FSU in the 2nd half.

Almost all of 2012 was successful by going to Muschamp ball.

True but I would say that was due to the defense shutting everyone down mostly. We weren't ramming it down most good teams throat except LSU and FSU.
