With EJ hurt now, we can stop the stupid QB shuffle and just leave Trask in there to zip it around. He's the leader for the Heisman with the opening day performance.

I mean, just 18 months ago or so we were trying to convince ourselves we loved Franks, and Trask was an injury-prone high-school-backup joke that was an afterthought. Even bringing up his name brought scorn and mocking upon you.

Now Trask is the best QB in the SEC and Franks is the worst. Who on Earth would have believed this?

18 months ago Trask was an injury prone, he was knocked out for the season two of three years.

It is concerning how someone watched them for 15-20 hours a week during spring and fall practices and scrimmages, yet didn't notice this discrepancy. That all 6 offensive staff members plus some limited QC/analysts didn't see it either (or couldn't effectively communicate it to the head coach) is alarming.

It was because Mullen and company were insisting Trask run the ball as all Mullen QBs up until that time had been required to do. Somewhere along the line in the past year the light came on (no doubt because he didn’t have a choice) and we switched to a more vertical pass oriented offense. If Mullen had made that move from the beginning who knows where we’d be?

If Trask stays in every game without the switch he’ll have a special season...and will be in the Heisman ceremony at least

Bingo, Trask was not the style of QB they wanted back there. Simple as that. Franks really wasn't either, but he can run better than Trask.

Honestly I’m not sure if Mullen can learn from this...I’m praying he does cause Brian Johnson and Savage have turned Trask into a LEGITIMATE heisman contender...Franks was never gonna be that guy...but if he doesn’t learn it’s gonna be a quick descent into “Mullins ball” again and I’m liking what Trask can do much better than what Franks did

The King has no clothes syndrome.

To his credit, it seems Mullinz promoted the person who finally came forward and said "why the fuchs are we doing this?"

Before we get the Mullen has changed the best quarterback he had was Dak Prescott a dude that was forced to pass and pass pretty well for an MSU quarterback, next quarterback and glorified halfback. The next quarterbacks after Trask, are dual threat.

I don't believe Mullen has changed, even though for two years we have had the athletic talent on the outside to do so. After Dak Prescott he went right back to the same Dan, what do you truly believe will happen after Trask is gone (being everyone is getting redshirted this year).
