recruiting got BETTER when he left, both times. Show me the evidence other than Ole Fooley's bullshyt excuses.
The fact that recruiting got better after he left, assuming you're correct in that regard, doesn't mean he didn't recruit well while he was here. He did recruit well for us, and as I said in my post above, taking Ron Zook Field from Bobby and the nulls counts for a lot.

No... that gut tripled our number of National Championships... that’s the opposite of embarrassing

I'm with you, Coach. That particular win covered a lot of sins by the Zooker. I'll always think well him because of that, and because I do believe he really tried.
You guys are lunatics. We won that game in spite of Zook, not because of him.

Good guy great recruiter. Left Urban the talent to jump start his national title wins......
Jeez, we going to reboot this argument again? SPURRIER recruited those players, even without him being there. Zook was a time-slot hit, nothing more.

Explain, please, with details.
I have to explain to you the incompetence of Zook era football?

We were winning that game that night even if Alvin Dork was head coach.

Zook was at least trying. He was nothing like Mac in that regard.

This is my position as well and I apply it Muschamp as well.

Yes, I am angry that they both failed and hurt the program but they both did the best they could, unlike the total fraud McElwain.
The failings of Zook and Muschamp fall squarely at the feet of Foley. He hired them which means he actually thought they would be successful.

Wow "haunted", your thread sure did trigger side explosions. Anyway, I think your original point has vitality =
Spurrier v Zook ... adds interest to the game.
