What's next, blood letting to release the "bad humors"? It's total crock of sh!t with no medical validity but I guess people will buy into anything if they think it can give them an edge.

This is nothing new. A lot of the top swimmers have been doing this for quite awhile. Not sure why the announcers were so baffled.

They wouldn't do it if they didn't feel like it helped them. Even if it is just mental at this level of competition anything that can improve your confidence is worth doing.

It falls into the "can't hurt" category. They could do the Hokey Pokey before each swim if they thought it could help but it would provide the exact same medical result.

In the making, the molten Swiss cheese is formed into "wheels" set in a vault to cure at 80 degrees.
A certain bacteria, still fermenting the cheese produces CO2 gas bubbles. when they slice down through
the cheese the bubbles burst and give the holes.
