If you go, yes there is. 3:30 is perfect. Plenty of time to tailgate, still get to see the big night games or drive home at a reasonable hour.
Good point. I was thinking more along the lines of the TV lineup and overall prestige of that time slot.

profile wise, you don't put the games that matter at noon.
I do see that but I'm also of the mind that they would want to have at least some games at the 1st slot that people would want to watch. Get them locked in for the whole day as it were.

You'll get the hard core guys at noon, the ones who watch all 3 hours of game day. But the real audiences start at 3:30. After families have had a chance to do their errands/home projects. Fans in the Western timezones will not be watching many noon eastern games as well.

I get that evening games are typically the higher profile games. But is there that big a difference between a noon start time and a 3:30 PM start time?

Actually, since CBS gets the first pick of each week into their 3:30 spot, that is technically the highest profile game of the week. Some may have asked why we, at then 3-3 were playing UGA at 3:30 on CBS while Ole Miss was playing Auburn at night on ESPN (which couldn't have been predicted back in July, when our game was announced at 3:30) - it's because the SEC contract with CBS specifically states that one and only one game is guaranteed on their network at 3:30 each year, and that's the Cocktail Party.

Have I mentioned yet that I blame Will Dawgshiit for the noon game and our irrelevance in CFB?

Twelve noon? Maybe Steve will still be hung over at game time.

Here's the really scary thing, I don't think those are costumes. Can't decide which is scarier, Spurrier's pants that look like they were made out of a painter's drop cloth, or the other guy's jeans with the "stretch to fit" waistband.

SECN puts UsucK and UcheaT on at 4, but UF/USC on at noon? Do they not want to compete at all against the CBS game?

Got my alma mater opening the hoops season at the Corndogs on SECN+ that day at 1 pm. Picture in picture is a plus for sure.
