I had predicted that EJ wouldn't play today. Since Mullen still wanted to redshirt him and with the Trask injury. I didn't think Mullen would elect to use one of his final two games to use him against a cupcake. If Franks goes down next week, he has to play EJ. Now if there's one thing Franks has been, that's durable. If EJ gets in against the Noles then no bowl game, unless he burns his redshirt, which Mullen has been adamant on him keeping. Now I understand, if injuries happen, then he'll be forced to burn his redshirt.
One of the games to play him that made the most sense to me was the bowl game. He gets plenty of practice leading up to that game. Is Mullen just wanting Fsu to have to prepare for EJ and not really planning to use him in that game? I think Will Miles said on the last podcast, that if EJ played a lot this week. He thought that might be a sign that EJ was not as far along as Mullen had hoped. He's playing pretty good currently, but have to consider the opponent. I'm of the belief that he doesn't play against the Noles unless he has to. I just don't see why you don't use him in the bowl game with all that extra practice. I was wrong about this game, what do y'all think?
