IHNF is right: the difference in the game was that inexplicable, unforced fumble Hurts had that was run back for a TD. You can't make a mistake that huge in the biggest game of your life. That play alone should prevent him from getting a contract extension, it was that bad.
Sadly, it was the game and I said as much in Q3. He played an excellent game and I’ve been so wrong about him. But the difference, outside of the stupid call at the end, was that Mahomes didn’t make a critical error, while Hurts did. At that level, and in that kind of game, sometimes that’s all it takes.
