I'm kind of surprised by that.....you must be getting a good deal on labor from your mechanic. If you're going to keep it for a good while make sure you think it out. Nothing sadder than "should haves" when it comes to HP....

Jasper sells a reman shortblock with 6 months / 8000 mile warranty for $1622 (to your door) which is a boiled block with new replaceables. Have your existing heads cleaned up and you're like brand new. I got stranded one night on Edisto Island SC (threw a rod) and had one put in a truck a few years ago and got great service from it. Thats with you returning your core. I was curious what the cost would be cause like I said I bought one 10 years ago for my pickup. So I called. It's painless...dudes name is Matt I think. Maybe it's Matty M and you can get a break. Price I got was for my zip code, so that may change depending on how close their distributor is to BFE. By the way, thats stock specs...they also offer several performance packages. You can go from mild to leather thong and handcuffs.

That would probably depend on who you ask.....Seriously though I was just saying to weigh all your options and look around a bit. Maybe check some local Vette club forums and such. Sometimes people are willing to sell stuff cheap if their upgrading or have lost interest in a project.

There are way nicer rockets for $80K but that one you show does look super sweet and would be pretty rare.

Long day.

A visual of the radiator ports showed it was rusted and needed replacement. Upon closer inspection the date June 27, 1989 was stamped on the top. Original radiator!

The amount of filth between the radiator and the condenser was difficult to believe. How the car could run at all without overheating I have no idea. Also contained the biggest mud dauber nest in history.

Cleared everything out up front. Lot of caked-on filth.
