The Little Folks Store was always advertised on WCTV. It always looked cool as I don’t know what! The only time I ever got to go there was when I got to work one week as a Page in the House of Representatives.
My mother worked across the street in the Holland building and on Friday of that week, they let us go at lunch. Since I had to wait for my mother to get off of work, I cashed my check in the Capital and walked to the LFS. There were some great playthings, a lot of models like Diddy referred to, but I couldn’t pull the trigger as the prices were higher than the Dime Store I was accustomed to. Instead, I backtracked to Buddy’s Sporting Goods and bought a new Rawlings First Baseman’s Mitt that I kept through high school.
Those were the good ol’ days!
