That is a huge difference from what the report said and most defense lawyers don't even distort things contained in the complaints that bad.

Ummmmmm...... let's just say my experience is vastly different than yours on this point.

Well it looks like his only options are to plead down to a lesser charge or rat out his accomplices.

Jackson is the only one charged. I'm thinking the other 2 actual gun-toting robbers have not been identified ?
The robbers gained entry to the apartment, apparently, because they knew the front-man Jackson. The apt was
known by all involved to be a marijuana dealer, so they knew cash would be there.

So, it seems Jackson may not be identifying his armed robbery cohorts… or has, but police cannot locate them.
Jackson threw away, at minimum, a free college degree, or worse, an NFL career, for a chance at a third of $328.??

Just attempting to wrap your head around the risk/reward of a situation like this is baffling. Your whole life ahead of you, and a life that is much more promising than 99% of kids the same age, and this is what you choose to do. It's sad but also such an indictment of the current culture. Zero concept of accountability or responsibility. Oh well.

Makes me think back to 1920-30's gangster Willie Sutton: "Why do you rob banks ? = "Because that's where the money is."
So a bank-vault manufacturer started putting a huge photo-decal of San Quintin Prison, right next to the dial-handle.
Maybe athletes' locker room should have such a picture. ??

But the few hundred bucks, pot, and game consoles were worth the street cred. Keep it in perspective.

Fever has never been very pro-victim. As Rog once said, it was a consensual robbery.

I wonder when Foley and the UAA are going to learn that you don't win football game's with Choir Boys? https://florida.scout.com/story/15452...urn-to-florida

Does anyone find it ironic that this thread is right underneath the thread rightfully chastising FSU for their lack of spine when it comes to player transgressions?

Where is it written that you need to be a girl punching, dope smoking, thieving punk to play good football? Because that's what I hear when people use the choir boy reference.

Its sort of a misnomer really. Role players and bench warmers do this stuff and get booted just as much but its not noticed b/c they arent mr big time. Its only discussed and front page news when its a big time player, and the reaction is always that it leaves a team in a bind, etc. I dont really think you have to have a stable of thugs to win games. What probably is true though, is that its alot easier to fill your roster with top level talent when the ONLY criteria you place on the acceptance of kids is that they can play. Let's face it, a lot of big time college recruits these days have checkered pasts and suspect futures b/c of the way we excuse away, cover, deflect and protect for them in a way no one would ever dream of doing for a normal kid in highschool. Just how it is these days.

Just saying most lawyers wont lie that bad about what is in black and white in a police report and usually just spin what is in there real bad. If I remember correctly his lawyers claimed he didn't even go in the place with the unknown perps according to the victim when the report said the victim did say he came into the place with them and left just prior to them doing the robbery.

splitting hairs really.
I've seen plenty of '48 Hours' episodes where the person who set up the 'deal gone bad' was charged the same as the actual perps - even life in prison.
doesn't matter if he went in or not really - he was involved.
It's like breakfast with eggs and bacon - the Chicken was involved but the pig was committed.
Either way they're both a part of a delicious way to start the day.

Hopefully other somewhat shady past players on the team get the wake up call from seeing what went down with JC and decide to straighten out their lives.

Jesus. It's not like he racked up charges on a dead man's credit card.
