I’ve never heard of it before and suddenly twice in a week...

Let’s hope NV’s story turns out a little better.

This is exactly me when I travel... well, minus the negroni because I don't know whatt the fuk that is, and minus the oyster if it would violate my inviolate "no fish/seafood if in third world land locked country" rule. ;)

Last week I was drinking 'Cane tears.

It was OK.

This week I drank 'Nole tears.

So much sweeter.

Next week I'll be drinking bleach again.

I miss Anthony. God bless his soul.

What's crazy is in an interview with Eric Ripert, he talked about the days leading up to his death. Apparently they were filming a segment in that French village. So they'd wake up in a 4* room to local French pastries for breakfast, then wander into the town to do some of the filming of them eating and drinking unbelievable local cuisine. Perfect weather. Hanging out with a best friend. Probably anything he could possibly want at his fingertips. To think that one could be in such a setting and yet still be fighting off the desire to end it all is incredible. I actually wasn't always the biggest big fan of AB, and sometimes found him annoying. But I wouldn't wish that type of struggle on anyone.

That was definitely one of my rules back in my international travel days. The other was never, ever, eat any food that wasn't peeled, pickled, or cooked.
