RUMOR: Mac Looking for an out?

I, for one, think the obvious choice is Dan Mullen...Strickland knows him well & he's a good recruiter here in the SE...just my $.02

I'll say this....there's something to the story but he's not going anywhere yet. His agent is putting his name out to see If any other decent program will bite. I know for a fact if the offense/recruiting continues to be sh*t midway through next year,he's fired!!!!

And why - from what we've seen - will it get any better? The D will have a SIGNIFICANT drop off. The OL will still stink, but may be ever-so-slightly improved. The QB will likely be a redshirt freshman....or, God forbid, a noodle arm walk-on transfer. And the coaching staff will likely remain largely intact (when it needs to have a serious overhaul).

Well, that makes sense....so I'm thinking it doesn't happen. Actually, I do expect Nord to get cut loose. The other two? I'm not holding my breath. Summers has been awful and should have never been retained (nothing from the Muschamp staff on the O side of the ball should have been retained). And we know that Nuss and Mac have a relationship and hard-headed coaches seem to think they know how to fix things. So unless Nuss gets another job offer I'm not so sure he gets asked to leave. But I guess I can be hopeful.

The changes will be made whether Mac is on board with it or not. That's probably why his agent is throwing his name around. The "big boys" have put in their opinion on several key issues and I expect them to be addressed.

Wow, you have to wonder is it intestinal fortitude or does he see the writing on the wall? Even the most diehard pumpers can see that 25th in recruiting isn't gonna cut it around here. Mac basically has two signature wins. He hasn't really out-schemed anyone that shows me his coaching is going to overcome a lack of talent.

I'll say this, if Nuss is still the OC, I will consider giving up my season tickets. I cannot justify spending thousands a year on tickets, travel, food, etc to watch this product. I just can't.

14th in the SEC & 120th in the nation. There's only 8 offense's worse than ours in the entire country.
