There were a few of Urban's WRs that didn't do anything significant in college that made a career in the NFL, so yes I am
You may have topped yourself with this one. Am I to understand that now it doesn't matter if kids don't do anything at florida, as long as they play on sunday? Forgive me, I thought we were interested in what happens on fall Saturdays in the swamp.

Then explain why these WRs were able to have success in the NFL playing for a decent amount of time (the average career is what 6-7 years in the NFL) and they didn't jump off the charts in College. They were all Urban's guys and made it in the NFL, so why is it a stretch to say that Callaway and Swain will not make it in the NFL?

Deonte Thompson
David Nelson
Louis Murphy
Trey Burton
Riley Cooper

My Point is that we have TALENT at the WR, and that we are not getting them the BALL!!!!! Why; because our QBs SUCK!!!! The same can be said about SOME of those that are mentioned above. We had talent at WR, but without a QB to consistently get them the ball their numbers were not off the chart.

Why do I need to explain some pointless narrative that you are bringing up? I don't even understand the point you're attempting to make. What does any of that have to do with Florida stinking while the game clock ticks? Half the guys you listed were very productive for Florida and played most or all of their career with Tebow. Definitely didn't have a qb at that time. You're all over the place on this one and I'm over it. Pump away.

My point is that Callaway and Swain are good WRs and would be even better with a QB and an OC that puts the ball in their hands. You are saying that our WRs are garbage. Plus Callaway has been productive! First he is the ONLY Gator have TDs with passing, receiving, rushing kickoff return, and punt return. To say that he is garbage is just unbelievable.

So, no oline blame or oline coaching or OC play calling or receiver routes? Come on.

I was going to say the same thing... .I can't say 100% QB... could say 50% QB and 50% (OL, playcalling, route running, dropped passes)

Now you've gone full #####. No one said anything even close. Go find a post where I or anyone else said that. The only thing Ive said as well as many others is that they haven't been all that productive.

To say that he is garbage is just unbelievable
Then this. You're unbelievable man.

Allow me to interject and end this pointless argument. He is definitely pumping, no doubt. But you two are talking in circles.

The argument he is trying to make, is we are a good QB away from having a productive offense. He is laying the blame of our ineffectiveness solely at the feet of the QB position. He believes the other pieces are finally in place and all we lack is the right QB.

I personally believe that going into next year this argument has some merit. Not sure I'm as optimistic as he is though. I think we lack at least ONE MORE important piece of the puzzle. A first rate hire at the OC position.

As is, I think our young OL will continue to come of age. Maybe next year they will finally achieve the status of "average"! That would be a huge step forward. I believe we have young talent at WR that will be a year better. And I like our RB situation good enough. We don't have any Heisman contenders there, but I think we can be above average there. "IF" one of our QB's develops into a "Good QB" I think we will see a big improvement in the offense.

And by big I mean like in the 50's or 60's if Nuss is still in charge of the "O". That's not very good but it's a helluva lot better than 114! I was REALLY holding out hope we'd make a good hire at OC this year but it is becoming more and more likely that we'll get more of the same. We're getting some talent on "O" but I have no confidence that we'll ever be any better than "average" on "O" unless Mac makes the necessary changes.

First off, very, very, very rarely do quarterbacks in college have the autonomy to arbitrarily change a play at the line of scrimmage. They rarely have that in the pros. So I don't even understand that argument.

Secondly, the QB play has been atrocious and a good QB would probably make the offense look better, BUT that will still not solve the atrocious play calling in the red zone.

Indeed, because that was a reasonable and rationale post. I even liked it.

Still waiting to be shown where I called callaway or any of our receivers garbage. Please provide or retract your accusation. Thanks.

You and others have posted that they run the wrong routes and that they are not great. Do they I am sure that they do, but all WRs have run the wrong routes a few times in their career. I think Callaway is great! When he given a chance to make plays he has.

Actually, I have never once stated they have run the wrong routes. I remember posters who have, and I remember the situation you are referring to (SEC title game) and I may have discussed the topic but I never stated any of them ran the wrong routes. IMO those picks were on applebee. You are correct that I have said they are not great, I said it in this thread, you just quoted it. I have never said they are garbage nor do I think they are. I think we have decent receivers good enough to be competitive, none of them are garbage and I have never said that. However, none of them are great because they haven't shown greatness. Just because you think someone's great b/c you just want to doesn't make it so. Reidell Anthony, Jabar Gaffney, harvin... those guys were great because they earned the title. These guys are capable, maybe one will turn out to be great, but as of now they are just serviceable.

Now for the last time, I don't appreciate your accusation that I called callaway garbage and we both know its a totally bogus accusation. I don't expect you to retract it, ive asked and you've deflected instead of owning up. I will move on, but I suggest you stay on topic in these threads instead of attempting to smear people.

And Mac has exactly 1 OL commit right now. One. Good job coach!

Chump brought in elite talent. Mac does not. Chump is by far a better recruiter than MacZero. That is hard to fathom. Chump's offenses were better too. WTF?

I will not retract it because you and others like to focus on the negative. It is known that yes I am a pumper, but I am also a realist. I have been very critical of our QBs. However, to say that Callaway isn't great is saying he is garbage. He is great in the fact that he is the ONLY Gator to score in all the ways that he has. He is Great for 4th Down play against bUTtchug. He is a Great WR and a Great Gator. Even better now that Treon isn't around to taint him with his bad intentions.
