She pushed him and hit him 1st. If women want equal rights they should learn to keep their hands to themselves. Otherwise this happens. Too many people think it's ok to put their hands on people and then cry that they got hit. You don't poke a sleeping bear and you don't try to fight someone who's twice your size. Her parents should teach her to not hit men.

Terribly vicious -- broke several facial bones.
Video shows immediate aftermath was concussion symptoms.
This deserves severe criminal prosecution.
Is this, once again, connected to drunken behavior? = from both persons?

Starts at home and then reinforced by the school and coaches that look the other way giving a implicit approval of this kind of behavior.

While I'm a staunch complementarian, if a society is going to claim equality of the sexes then they need to stop acting as if hitting a woman is a huge crime. Why did his lawyers release this? Are they stupid?

Unfortunately I feel it's come to this. Females are now allowed into combat arms in the military; the epitome of equal rights for all. This should simply be treated as a bar fight where both gets charged with assault. Nothing special for her because she's a female.
He shouldn't have hit back and had her arrested for simple battery.

Wow. Yeah she shoved him first but that punch was far worse. You should never hit a woman and that hard. At anytime in that video I did not get the sense that she posed a real threat to cause him any harm. She should not have shoved him and definitely should not have hit her that hard. Both wrong. If she's no real threat, sometimes you just gotta walk away.

What the f*ck is wrong with young men thinking it's ok to punch a female? Where have we gone wrong. Between this kid, 18 at the time, and De'Andre Jackson, I just don't get it.

Good question. When looking at recent generations, all I could come up with are the promotion of single parents, lack of father involvement and the glorification of music and culture that refers to women as b*****s and ho's and glamorizes a general lack or respect for authority.

But that's certainly not it.

At the risk of sounding like I'm defending this scumbag (I'm the father of two daughters - believe me, I'm not), I do think there's a worthy debate here.

If the exact same incident happened, and it was a diminutive guy who initiated contact (you obviously don't know what was said) first with a shove, and then a slap/punch (it's hard to see if she had a fist or open hand) - would it make a difference under the law? What if it was a large woman who initiated that contact against a small guy? What if the larger (more intimidating) person got knocked the F out by the smaller? If he had not punched her...would she be guilty of assault? Did his punching her take that away?

I truly don't know what the LAW states here, and if there are any "gender" biases in the law.

They are "allowed into combat arms" but 99 percent can barely carry the body armor, helmet, and basic load much less the 75-110 pound ruck that combat troops often carry.

Unfortunately, biology doesnt GAF about lefty presidential orders.

Women are essential in law enforcement but worse than a missing bunk in an infantry squad.

You should never hit a lady, and a lady will never give you a reason to hit her. She is no lady. There is a huge difference between a lady who is caught up with a POS abuser, and a woman who feels so empowered that acts like a bytch and thinks she's a man. I didn't hear where she was charged with assault and battery. Where's the outrage with that?

Did he do the right thing? That depends on what perspective you're looking at. Did he do the smart thing? Of course not, he should have called the cops and had her sorry ass arrested and let some nappy headed ho beat the shyt out of her in holding.

To @BNAG8R point, when I was in college I had a friend who was 6'4 and 24 years old. He started school a little late, but to the point of the story, he was pretty good in a fight. He was walking across a side street East of 13th St, when a car full of little pissants started yelling at him for walking in front of their car. He gave them a sour look and kept walking. One was stupid enough to get out of the car, run up behind him and punch him in the back of the head. He turned around and here's this little 18/19 year old shytstain. One punch and the kid was knocked out with a broken orbital bone. The cops were called, and they asked my friend if he wanted to press charges.

I'm all for equality, but it's a two way street. She was an idiot for engaging and assaulting him to begin with. It's too bad things turned that way. It's also too bad the snowflakes don't think people should be held accountable for their actions.

Well they fought for the right. There is no reason they shouldn't be expected to sign up for the draft now.
