Ban the fake Gator(s).

I’ll monitor them. The posts by Plank above are about former Gator commits that Mullen was working hard to get back as commits. And they all committed elsewhere. Yesterday.

That just sucks.

Goolsby is 6’5 and considered the top WR in the state. He was a commitment 3 months ago to us. Now a Nole.

Jaleel McRae is one of the top safeties in the nation and has been in love with the Gators since he was a freshman. He just committed to the Noles.

Former commit Ladson commits to Climpson.

Goolsby - #1 ranked WR in state / #5 State
Ladson - #3 ranked WR in state / #9 State
McRae - #32 in the state

This is infuriating.

FSUx now has the #2, #5, #14, 33, 45, and 47th player in the state.

We have ZERO of the top 50.

At one point we had Goolsby, Ladson and Dunmore (#2 WR in the state) commited.

I’m not saying that Mullen doesn’t start pulling in commits. But it SUCKS that slick Willie is taking OUR kids.

Is anyone suprised that Ladson and Goolsby are gone? McRae to FSU was a surprise but I haven’t heard much about him being part of this class either.

The FOMO on here is pathetic. Would it be nice to have had commits from sanders etc today? Yes. Did FSU have a good day? Yes. Is the world ending and we need to forget about ever winning again? No that is dumb. We haven’t even played a real game yet. Taggart is a schit game coach. It will even out.

We want a great class this year we have to win. Period. Until that happens I would not expect the number 1 class in the country.

I’m not expecting the #1 class. How about 1 of the top 70 prospects in the state?

We don’t do that I will personally carry the pitchforks and torches to Mullen’s doorstep

Again – I’m not saying that Mullen is not working hard. And I’m not saying he won’t closed with 10 of the top 20 in the state. Who knows?

I’m just saying yesterday was a crappy day recruiting wise. We lost out on guys who were heavy commits to us at one point.

Mullen has to turn one of these top kids into a commit and start getting some momentum.

I’m surprised we haven’t had one pop this weekend yet.

Literally all we have to do is convert on 25% of our visitor list yesterday and we will be more than fine

According to most on this board Taggart couldn't recruit because he was a nobody and Mullen was going to be great because he worked here before. I told you guys this would happen. Mullen just doesn't connect with elite players like Taggart, Swinney, Smart etc. This is why he needed an elite staff. We're recruiting worse than fricking miss St and fsu. SMH

No, according to most on this board Taggart was a sub .500 coach. Everyone knew he would recruit well, hell Jimbo's country ass was a top 5 recruiter year in and out. Most assumed Taggart would be fairly comparable to Jimbo which is fairly easy at FSU with the sub standard academic requirements. He's a younger black head coach in the southeast, of course he's going to be able to relate to most of the elite recruits, that wasn't what we all made fun of him and you for Omar. It was that he's been a $hitty head coach his whole career.

My question to you is how come every time his name comes up in any thread you immediately come rushing in to defend him? Your either some relation to him, a lying piece of $hit nole fan or a social justice warrior? Every one here would respect you a little more if you just told the truth. Maybe that last line was a lie, most here will will never respect you.

Not trying to argue but Goolsby isnt in the same stratosphere as Ladson? Who is calling him the #1 WR in the state? Hes slow as shyt, and has dropped from top 50 player to fringe 4 star and could be a three star at some point. Hes good but slow and meh.

Mcrae has had 2 ACL injuries. Nobody is recruiting him anymore. Not Georgia or Bama or us really. FSU took a star bump there. Lots of concerns about mobility moving forward.

They still got Lucas and Howell which is really good.

And we walked away with zilch. Biggest recruiting weekend and nobody popped. Its concerning. Youd have to be the biggest homer in the world to not be slightly weirded out how we managed to pull off not even getting some low 3 star kid.(not talking about you here J im speaking generally)

Bruh I've been a GATOR fan since I watched my first game at 5. Yes I like Taggart. He should've been our coach. Bad coaches don't turn 3 programs around 3 times. You can hate all you want but you're 0 for 3 in your assessment of me. Jeez do you pass around same garbage "prove you're a real fan" garbage script? Lulz at wanting people on a message boards respect. I like most the people here based on their posts but respect hell you could a serial killer or a thief. I could never respect that no matter if agree with someone or not. I'm here for entertainment and hopefully Mullen entertains us or we're going to to be farther behind all of our rivals except Ut since they have an actual penis coaching their team. Mullens got to clear out the dead weight. Most of our class is in the 500s or worse. We've seen what happens when you have ham and eggers everywhere. Hell I remember when we used to laugh at the last years of bobbys era because FSU was trash with all their ham and eggers especially their turnstile OL. Now the script has flipped.

Unfortunately, the Gator brand is just tarnished right now. FSUx is not, and we are going to have a harder time getting some of these top FL kids to commit until we start winning. It’s a really rough spot to be in, Mullins has a tough challenge ahead of him.

‘They got that juice back at Florida’

https://www.seccountry.com/florida/florida-recruiting-reaction-spring-game

GAINESVILLE, Fla. — Florida coach Dan Mullen and his staff hosted an elite group of recruits for the spring game Saturday.

Multiple 5-star prospects and top targets were on hand as the Gators racked up 65 points and 687 total yards on offense. SEC Country caught up with several visitors to get their reactions after the game:

5-star running back Trey Sanders, Bradenton, Fla.
“Every since Coach Mullen has gotten here, I can see a whole difference in the staff and everything. I just like the vibe up here, and of course my brother committed. So I came up here to support him and my family.”

5-star defensive end Nolan Smith II, Bradenton, Fla. (Georgia commit)
“I just came and wanted to enjoy the day. It was a great spring game. We came out here and it was beautiful. Guys are flying around and the coaches focus on the little details. I was paying attention to how they rush the passer and what moves they were using. It’s more of an NFL scheme and that’s what I would really love to play in.”

5-star cornerback Derek Stingley Jr., Baton Rouge, La.
“It was a nice spring game and there was no point during the day when I was bored. I got to see everything I wanted to see. … It helps out their case really good. This is my first game here, so getting to see all that bumped them up higher.”

4-star running back Noah Cain, Bradenton, Fla.
“I like the energy Coach Mullen is bringing back to the school. You can tell a big difference with the new staff. They got that juice back at Florida. That energy and that fire back, so I really like that. They’re trying to get Florida back to those glory days when they were winning and going to the SEC championship every year. Coach Mullen is heading in the right direction with that.”

4-star wide receiver Mycah Pittman, Calabasas, Calif.
“It was an awesome visit. It was a great atmosphere. A lot of people were there. The fans are crazy and the love is real. … I felt like I could go out there and play some receiver. Coach [Billy] Gonzales is telling me, ‘We need you at the position.’ He thinks I can come in and make an impact at Florida.”

4-star athlete Mark-Antony Richards, West Palm Beach, Fla.
“I talked to most of the coaching staff. They just want me here as a player and a person. I just wanted to hear what they had to say and give them an opportunity like I give every other school. They took advantage of that. Florida is up there for me now.”

4-star defensive back Tyrique Stevenson, Miami
“It was pretty exciting and pretty great. I saw the vibe and I liked it. It just feels better. I got an even better vibe than I got when I was committed. It just opened my eyes up to a lot. Coach Mullen told me he wants me at safety roaming around behind C.J. [Henderson] and Marco [Wilson].”

4-star safety Brendan Gant, Lakeland, Fla. (Alabama commit)
“It was a good seeing the difference with the coaches and the culture. They just want me to come. Plenty of guys from my county came here and they want to keep the tradition going. They want to get the program back to what it was with [Tim] Tebow and all those boys.”

4-star defensive end Derick Hunter, Fort Myers, Fla.
“What impressed me was just seeing the old alumni come back and support Coach Mullen and the new staff on what they’re doing at the University of Florida. They’re showing the players that this is a family, a brotherhood. To be a part of that and have the Gators logo on your helmet, it means a lot.”

4-star guard Keiondre Jones, Hogansville, Ga.
“It was good. I like the vibe up here, so I keep coming back. I really got to see the fans and talk to some of them. I’ve been comfortable with these coaches since they were at Mississippi State. I’ve known them for a long time and we have regular conversations. I’m pretty cool with all of them.”

4-star cornerback Chester Kimbrough, New Orleans
“It was a fun experience. Florida has always been in the picture for me because of their past history. They’re my leader right now. … Coach Mullen told me whenever I’m ready to jump on board, just tell him and he’s going to make it happen.”

4-star safety Cortez Andrews, Tallahassee, Fla.
“It was real good. I enjoyed the environment, the fans and the coaches. I like the safeties. They’re real aggressive and I like the coverages they’re in. I definitely see myself playing in The Swamp.”

3-star linebacker Marcus Tillman Jr., Orlando, Fla.
“It was a big crowd just for a spring game. I feel a lot better about the staff now that I’ve been up here with them. I know Florida is up there at the top, but I’m still looking at everybody.”

3-star guard Ethan White, Clearwater, Fla. (Florida commit)
“The offense looked good. They scored a lot of points. They were running it well and throwing it well. It was crazy to see over 50,000 people come for a spring game. Fans were all over the place.”

3-star linebacker Jesiah Pierre, Mount Dora, Fla. (Miami commit)
“It was amazing out here feeling the Florida vibe and how it is around the school. It was just awesome. The fan love and how much they care about football really stands out. You can see how much the coaches care about the players and the culture they’re trying to build here.”

3-star defensive tackle Renato Brown, West Palm Beach, Fla. (Miami commit)
“It was nice. The coaches have told me the atmosphere has changed and I totally saw that during the game. There’s a lot behind the coaching and tradition here. The stadium is amazing and it gets packed.”

So here’s the deal. I know that rankings are fluid and there going to be a lot of changes over the summer. All I’m saying is that we’re about to go into the summer with no kids in the top 50 in the state of Florida.

All of those WRs could drop over the summer. And new ones could take the places. We see it every year. We just need some news on the recruiting front.

What stands out to me, is all the recruits stating how the energy/vibe/fire is so different than ole hee haw. I like Mullen's "relentless" theme. This is what will be needed to turn the program around. Need to haul in a lot of top notch talent to match our rivals and be able to compete for championships. No more lumps of coal that butters thought he could turn in to diamonds.
