Hopefully, the next UF HC will have an ego, hates to lose, wants to beat the up-line HC's to move up the media food chain... and stealthily accomplishes this through the orchestration of his players. I'll take a little more Patton and a little less Forrest Gump with this next HC selection please.

This is a darn good read and pulls together all the things we've been saying here on GC for close to two years.
This passage about the whole shark thing reflects the way I felt about the way he handled it and was mentioned by on of the guys on the pregame show when he called McElwain "college football's drama queen".
"This is a program that has run off the rails, and not just on Saturdays. There were warning signs even this summer, when a photo surfaced on a McElwain lookalike lying naked atop a shark on a deep-sea fishing boat. It’s just a photo, right? McElwain should’ve laughed it off. It instead became a thing … a silly, stupid thing that could’ve been handled with humor but instead revealed a coach strung so tightly that even a laugh-it-off moment turned deadly serious. Maybe it revealed how this team would wilt under pressure. Florida certainly has."

Personally I don't quite understand the Norvell interest... Wouldn't hiring Norvell just be like hiring Todd Graham (who Norvell followed around like a puppy from 2007-2015) wearing Justin Fuente's coattails?
Whoever we end up with I'll support and give a chance to (anything has to be better than this, right?!)... But my initial reaction wouldn't be "homerun."

Well, if nothing else, we can take heart in the fact that he gave a postgame presser that all but verified he knows he is getting fired. He's done. It's just a formality at this point.

I told my wife when I saw the report that Stricklin talked to Mac disputing that he had talked to Sexton. Wrong question was asked....."are you going to fire him for cause". The proverbial denial when its imminent.
The dude knows its over. Probably, hell, its the most candid presser in 3 years. He knows he effed up, UF will probably say you know you effed up so take a small fraction of a buyout and go buy some popcorn.

Thank god, I was beginning to think this season could end up being a disappointment. Good think we're going to close strong with some offensive firepower.
