I really think Stoops is the guy, and with Oklahoma out of the national picture, we could have an announcement sooner than you may think. He's 15 years stale in Norman, a safe hire, has a history with this program, and would probably welcome a change. Gator Nation would welcome him with open arms.
He's got my vote. We've thrown his name out every time there's been a coaching change (entirely too many for my tastes btw), but I've got a different feeling this time. If I had to bet, I'd put my money on Stoops. He'll have a hard time answering to all of his comments on the SEC though.

Wish him and his family the best in life. He will be an awesome DC for someone very soon.

Unfortunately, this is true. I could see malzahn going hard after him. That pairing could win a couple of championships pretty quickly.

Crap he is finishing out the season after all.

I think it is so he "steps down" and saves us the buyout.

Because it is the right thing to do. I am not a Foley worshipper, by far, but he has built the Number One NCAA Athletic Program in the Nation. Calling him 'Fooley' just makes you look like an idiot.

Interesting

@APMarkLong: If someone does hire Muschamp as DC, it looks to me (according to contract) like he would be limited in recruiting for 1 year

Why even bother with the distinction imo - They are called in and told they are fired but we can announce it as a resignation.

Enough with the hatemongering. We get it, you hate Muschamp. What's done is done, just let it be.

If Muschamp is getting one penny of that buyout, then he didn't resign.

'I can either fire you or you can resign"

Contractually, I'm not privy to whether this benefits one or both of the parties involved. If resign is more warm and fuzzy for you, great, I'm just happy the death stare is now part of the dark side of Gator history and we can feel encouraged again.
