I don’t like whatevs.

So Resse had two other SEC offers, vols and UK.

Joseph was pursued by Usce and then Alabama near the end as a backup plan.

Polite had offers from Aub, tenn, Usce and MSU.

Zuniga had Arkansas and uga.

Do we really want to get into the secondary outside of Stewart and Henderson, or the OL?

I’m not dismissing blame form coaches but we entered the season with a unanimous contention that we had less talent than any other team in recent years. Mullen and Co have maximized it beyond our imaginations and have made some mistakes as well. But pretending we didn’t have serious holes coming in is crazy.
UGA, BAMA, Aub, and others SEC Teams made offers yet folks on here are saying that our guys couldn’t play for other SEC Teams.

Look, How did Purdue beat OSU? How did we beat LSU? How did Kentucky beat us?

It was just a matter of time before the talent gap reared it’s ugly head. It did today. The thing is, even though it was a tough pill to swallow, this game leaves me encouraged for the future.

The horrid recruiting in recent years is just too much to overcome, yet we are still very competitive. That speaks volumes about coach Mullen and our future once we get better players across the board and the needed depth to boot.

I’m not going to speak about this player or that player and their strengths or weaknesses, I’m sure that will be covered here plenty. I’m proud of the players and coaches and know a bright future lay ahead.

Pretty much summed up my thoughts...hate losing but not discouraged at all

To be honest, this moral victory stuff has me flat-out disgusted. I'm happy with the direction of the program, but there was no excuse for some of the ****ing of the bed we saw today by the team. Just because we're ahead of schedule doesn't mean the players are suddenly infallible.

We should have won this game but gave it away. UF got up 14-13 and just stopped playing for reasons I'll never understand. The supposedly huge "talent gap" is not why we lost this game and is a convenient excuse that makes me want to puke.

I'll feel better in the morning but I am still extremely pissed at what I saw today and more of you should be too. It's now time to start looking ahead to what could help us next year - like playing Emory Jones more.

But that’s the point. This staff took a rag tag collection of guys hand selected by a guy watching shark porn, and will likely win 9-10 games this year. They might have been offered by sEC teams, but not the ones with the record we’re aspiring for.

We probably have a better record and were in line for things better than what we should’ve even been discussing coming into the season. The letdown is always hard, but nothing to date would be considered bad coming into this year. It just is more frustrating because of the unexpected highs we’ve seen.

It's frustrating because we lost due to self-inflicted garbage, not because of a supposed "rag tag" bunch of players. We knew we couldn't turn the ball over like that, and yet it happened anyway.

This is the best thread I have ever read after a loss (not counting cover2). So many posting rationally and acknowledging what we have heard for months...they have more talent.

That said this was a winnable game and a game these kids have to learn to win. Even with the mistakes we hung in there. That bodes really well for the future and demonstrates a coaching advantage. I think we’ll see more growth from this team down the stretch.

The only moral victory I see is that we have reached a new level. We now fully expect to beat the very top teams in the nation and are pissed when we don’t. Wow....that’s a giant step forward.

Ok, we turned it over. Not denying that.

But let’s be clear, RFN, Wright and many other great UF safeties would’ve made that pick and returned it for 6, which would’ve put us UP 1 in the 4 th. Davis can’t corral it and the rest is history.

If you asked a casual football fan who wasn't familiar with ether team to sit down and watch that game, do you think they would have come away with the idea that UGA had an obviously more talented team on that field today?

i said in the box we have some guys in the secondary that arent sec caliber talent. i stand by the statement all day long.
I didn’t read you post anything about “secondary” but to each his own. You made a blanket statement and then said you’d prefer to not call out names. You weren’t the only one.

This is a game we all expected to lose preseason. Georgia is clearly a better team. We made a good showing. No moral victory. We are headed in the right direction.

well id have to go back and find the exact post, but whatever was said, wasnt that the whole team is devoid of sec talent. nobody said that, despite your multiple implications to the contrary. my comment was directed at some of the kids in the secondary. again, i stand by it. we have some FIU level talent back there as law likes to describe it. you still my dawg tho man, sorry about the money loss tonight.

To your point, I think most people who are familiar would say that we've been overachieving and they've been underachieving all year. Maybe our coaching is better or maybe the talent gap really isn't that much. Do we win if we don't turn the ball over? Probably...like 90% probably. We really just had too much to overcome. We are less than one year into a new S&C programs that replace Kindercare for the prior 3 years. I honestly think that some of the McElwain stank showed up today, and maybe it's because of all the questions about last year. There honestly is some talent issues, but we were in position and should have pulled through.

WTF does that have to do with anything? That makes this loss okay?
Georgia is clearly a better team.
I couldn't disagree more, and it showed on that field today.
We made a good showing. No moral victory.
Saying we had "a good showing" like we're a FCS team and not a team ranked 9th in the nation IS moral-victory crap. Puke.
We are headed in the right direction.
This I agree with. That doesn't mean the team is above criticism.

Do you think that same casual fan would’ve concluded that Muschamp was clearly in over his head after close losses in 2011, ‘12 or ‘13? What a casual fan sees and what people who obsess over every little detail like us, are two separate things.

For that matter it was the opinion of every analyst that picked against us that we just weren’t on their level talent wise. No one said, Id take Smart over Mullen.

Well since a casual fan spends all their time watching the quarterback, yes.
