Whining doesnt change a thing.

All your bullshtt was rejected 9-0 by the supreme court.

9-0.

Maybe you missed the last part. I'm fine with it. I have youtube to watch old UF games, and have found other avenues that take up much of my passion for cfb. But it will be a disaster and will totally backfire on the group it's intended to help. I will watch. I will be fine.

Anyway, this thread is about neteng showing up at the doorstep(hopefully not Atlanta) of Kate Beckninsale with a random tranny math teacher he picked up online and requesting a menage.

Stay on task.

What was your position with the Athletic Department. I forget.

Luckily there are plenty more like you destroying the thing.
You’re conflating the issue. Fuchs the AD, hell Fuchs all of UF at this point, with allowing Chinese spies to steal and sell research and keeping instate students out of admissions.

My points was that the $3,000 you mentioned doesn’t come close to touching athlete compensation at a P5 school

The whole point of the lower entrance standards is so that kids who are otherwise disadvantaged to have an opportunity for an education and provide them with a path out of a deadend community. In other words, it allows stupid mutherfuchers who can run fast, or hit hard a way out of da hood.

Now you are going to be giving a bunch of ignorant sh1theads a bunch of money, and say "go represent our school". Exactly how many kids are going to try to parlay these new gains into seed money for guns and drugs. Over half the football players probably smoke dope now, can't wait for them to start selling now too.

They already get plenty of compensation. If they want that compensation to be more based in cash, they should start their own pro league. Let the NFL start a farm system

Good Lord that is the dumbest thing I have read all day. And I work with some morons. You seem to think every player is a dumb dumb and can't qualify. You also keep calling them kids when they are adults.. You take the exception and then make it the norm. The university is making millions off these athletes who are all so underprivileged (in your perverted reality) yet you want to keep them from earning the $ that gets them out of the hood. Are you stupid, like clinically stupid? Or you just a person who stereotypes everybody?

A kid doesnt give a damn about the free tuition or the free closet like room he gets in our 50s block wall, halls so narrow the big guys have to turn sideways, ghetto azz student housing.

All he cares is UF gives him $3000 and everyone else pays max, $5700 or whatever it is this year.

So if someone doesn’t think it’s compensation then it’s not?

they are being and have been compensated very well. Whether they recognize it or not.

Most are dumb and will remain dumb. Anything they make will be frittered away. They will not get out of the ghetto.

hell, look at Reche Caldwell. Caught up dealing after being in the league so long. Just another dumb dumb

But Reche wasnt able to make $ from NIL in college yet somehow you think that is a point that supports your opinion? Most arent dumb and I bet most actually qualify. I think you are confusing the process of getting accepted to the standards for entrance.

My point is Reche had a lot more money than NIL money and look what happened.

And no, there are very few football players that could get into UF on their own. The standards to get into UF sans preferential treatment is very difficult these days.

Getting into UF is competitive, so I understand that there may be a minimum threshold but that is not pertinent to this discussion. Without football could they get in? The middle 50% at UF had GPA’s of 4.4-4.6, ACT of 30-34, and SAT of 1330-1470. This is basically where the 26% begins. So yeah, not many are hitting that.

Again, Reche didn't make any $ off his NIL during college so your point is irrelevant. Furthermore, there are way more examples of players who made a lot of $ in the NFL who didn't get into trouble than did. Next you are going to say all our TEs are murderers based on your logic which is not very logical.

Getting accepted into UF is competitive. Passing the minimum standards isn't. That is pertinent to this discussion. They are on scholarship, just like other athletes, for their athletic ability and not their academic prowess. Those athletic programs were not developed to save kids from the hood, they were developed to allow more gifted athletes into the university so the university could have a better team than the other universities. They make a lot of $ off that.

Do you take the same stance against athletes who are on scholarship for golf? What about tennis? Or do you just think football players are stupid?

Nailed it. I've said much of this as well. We can paint this however we'd like, but this is about "social justice" and nothing more. People thought it was ridiculous when the skiing kid from CU lost his scholarship, but there wasn't enough uproar to move any needles. This is just the latest installment of "it's not fair", specifically for a particular demographic. And as always, it will only exacerbate the problem. Not a year goes by that some NFL/NBA star doesn't go bankrupt in one of those almost unbelievable stories. And those are adults, with agents and others trying to help them manage their money. This will be 17-20 year old kids, often from humble backgrounds being handed large amounts of money. It will not go well, and anyone saying otherwise is fooling themselves.

Another point is that the more this becomes a business, not an amateur sport, you will inevitably see contracts. Right now that booster has no coverage because the 20k he gave to the signee isn't legal. The moment some business throws 100k the way of a 5* athlete for his likeness, *ahem* signature on the LOI, there will be clauses that allow them to claw that back or cancel if certain conditions aren't met. So when Brenton Cox tells Athens Ford he's transferring to Florida, does anyone think they'll just let him walk with the funds, no recourse? It may happen. Once. In a similar vein, if it becomes a true business, then like any business, weak links will be cut. So the kid from Pahokee that doesn't work out and isn't as good as UF expected him to be gets sent back to the muck with nothing, not even the degree he was promised. After all, that's how businesses work. And this is yet another way that UF and its current administration is in no way prepared to handle this new reality. Because we will keep the Justin Williams of the world for 5 years out of benevolence, while the cut throat programs we're currently trailing won't, giving them even greater roster advantage.

Like you said, start a farm system if that's what some of these kids are demanding. Let the kids who want to play a sport while getting a degree continue to do so. But in any event, that's obviously not happening. So now it's about watching how disastrous it becomes.

I started to respond to this same post but then I read your response. Couldn’t have said it any better myself.
I can’t wait for the 30 for 30 episode where BSPN tries to garner sympathy for these same poor victims who will then try to sue the school because they were denied the education they avoided for 3-4 years while pimping themselves for NIL dollars.

You are correct, not all college football players are morons. Only about 80% of them are.

If you disagree, I recommend you spend some time around the players at the top tier P5 schools.
Not a lot of deep thinkers in the group.

Refresh my memory, when did college athletes from other sports start demanding compensation?

I must have missed that.

I also don’t recall situations where golf athletes had to go to juco for two years to qualify for entry with the lowest thresholds for admission.

That sounds like a great reason to deny them the ability to make $.

No it isn't. Its about KB and RmA (or RA, Id do it) showing up on my doorstep and demanding a menage. And I last at least a couple hours. Lets throw in a fluffer that is less than 5ft tall, and I use her.

Wasn't it somebody on Zook's staff who said "You have to realize, most of these kids are retards.".
