Yeah. It’s sucks. Absolutely abysmal.

silver lining - and take this with a grain of salt since I think these are long shots regardless of what the sites are saying - we are still in it for the kids below.

there are about 10 others as well like a couple kids from Oklahoma and a new highly ranked Louisiana kid but I consider all those really long shots).

Walter Nolen DT (#6 R, #3 247, #1 overall ESPN)

Shawn Murphy ILB (#26 R, #66 247)

Kamari Wilson S (#33 R, #17 247)

Trevor Etienne RB (#75 R, #166 247)

Evan Stewart WR (#83 R, #24 247)

Kenyatta Jackson DE (#86 R, #76 247)

Azareyeh Thomas S (#111 R, #105 247)

Omarion Hapmpton (#132 R, #142 247)

Jayden Gibson WR (#133 R, #172 247)

Players we’ve whiffed on:
#5 Jaheim Singletary CB (Jacksonville)
#14 Jacoby Matthews S (Louisiana)
#34 Gabe Dindy DE (Lakeland)
#36 Shemar Stewart DE (Opa Locka)
#37 Sam McCall S (Lakeland)

Our OL recruiting has hit rock bottom - this kid, unranked, played 2 games at OL last year in HS, and looks to be getting traction from our staff - offers from FAMU, Howard, Alabama A&M, FIU, etc...

embarrassing.

He's 6'6" 285 lbs

The coaches are hoping to teach him how to be an SEC OT in 3 years so they can get 2 years of service out of him

There's 6'6 300 pounders on EVERY 1-AA (FCS) roster in the country. 6'6 300 pounders are not that uncommon in the lower ranks of college football - but they aren't all SEC (or even D1) athletes. It's just like not all 6'10 basketball players are capable of playing D1 or SEC level basketball. This kid could become an all-American by his senior year and it's still a bad take, in 2021, for a UF type program. But then again, we aren't the "UF type program" that most of us are used to watching anymore. No reason in hell to be involved with a kid like this. Maybe if we had 4 other commits who were actually ranked and we wanted to add a 5th OL to the class.

honestly I'd rather have a defensive tackle trying to switch to OT than another useless pile of defensive backs.
