 I’m sure there are a lot of things I said from four years ago that I take back now. Let’s start with your mother.

Hell my dad might agree taking that back... but it happened.. Similar to us overpaying the jabronie who is the headcoach, just because he is better than the last two jabronies.

Hey, we could have landed Norvell.

Ogre didn't coach much of that 2019 team. The OC parlayed that job he did into an NFL gig.
Not coaching is the best coaching job he ever did.

imagine if zook had been smart enough just to be the recruiting coordinator in Chief and let his coordinators do their jobs. or even Chimp, if he had shut up and let the offensive coordinator score points instead of trying to win time of possession instead.

The Donkey is right, in that pretty much ANYONE can be a 8-4 coach at UF. It's time for a grand do-over. Let's get Chip Kelly in here.
Chip KelLLLLLLLy? Over MuLLLLen?

Fun game really.

Hey, we could have landed NorveLLLL.

Honestly, he would have the same record with the same output. Norvell can call an offense. But the moment he decided to walk into the clusterfuch that is FSU you knew he wasn't an elite guy. Because you don't look at that situation and say, I want some of that.

Interesting set of metrics and results. It befuddles the mind why Mullen doesn’t just figure out a way to recruit better. Is he that lazy and that unlikable?
I don't know for sure but it could be the administration screens all potential football recruits for Ivy League potential and only lets the staff recruit the prescreened candidates. It would make sense given Dr. Fuchs penchant for deemphasizing revenue sports.

Honestly, Clown Town is objectively a better job than Minnesota, Iowa State, Purdue, Nebraska, UCLA. You KNOW no one is winning at those places. At least Clown Town was a recent winner.

Their AD office is more fuchsed up than ours and relying on tax dollars in the future isn't going to get it done.

I would love to know what it was in norvell's background that was making EVERYONE pass on him.

I've shared this story on Spurrier here before, but it is relevant to the Spurrier's mindset regarding FSU. I had a chance to meet him at a fairly large event and I started talking to him about how the 1997 FSU game was the best game I've ever attended and probably the most cathartic event of my life (sorry kids).

Spurrier looked at me deadfaced and unimpressed said something to the effect of "so, you were in Gainesville for most of the years we won 7 SEC titles and a National Championship, and that is the best game you've ever seen?"

Then, he almost immediately turned to his disappointment of that year being the only year he lost to Georgia, but that even with that loss, if Doug Johnson doesn't throw 2 INT's against LSU that year we are playing for another SEC Title. Instead, he begrudged two teams we beat playing for the title.

He offered zero commentary on a game that Bowden once remarked was one of the worst of his career. Take from it what you will, but even 3 years ago, his priorities were obvious. I'm not suggesting he didn't "care", but he did not care as much about FSU.

Spurrier was always honest about the FSU game wasn't important. He moved it up a week, so he had an extra week to prepare for the SEC Championship game. The seasons were about winning the SEC.

^^^^^ This is what always disappointed me about SOS. He didn't take the f$u game as seriously as they did. While he was more worried about SEC titles than beating f$u, he didn't see the forest for the trees. Those two things don't have to be mutually exclusive.

1 of our 3 NCs came when we lost to f$u so winning it all COULD be done, but that year we had to have help because of the loss.

f$u win to me is more important the uga only because I know way more f$u fans than uga fans. This year we have to win out, but a 1 loss UF team gets to the playoffs if that 1 loss is to uga and keeps us out of ATL.

FSU is a girls teachers college that shouldn't even be playing sports. Unimportant and should be ignored like a dead roach on the driveway. I know some of you grew up with FSU being our "in-state" rival but Miami was long before the No-olies. Georgia on the other hand are evil, conniving bitches who have lied and schemed to harm the Gators for 80 years at least. They are pure malignant putrid garbage and need to be beaten badly often and excised from the human condition. (BTW: autocorrect kept making malignant Maleficent; damn Disney anyway)

You’re drinking the SOS kool aid if you buy into the thinking that he didn’t prioritize beating FSU alongside kicking UGA and lowering his handicap. Spurrier has an elephant’s memory (almost as good as mine) when it comes to losing. He has 5-8-1 as a constant gnawing reminder of how he loved to lay it on FSU.

Spurrier hating losing, but the SEC Championship was more important than the FSU game. But if there was opponent he hated more than any it is UGA.

I think you think you know way more about what SOS thinks than what you really do know. I bet you have SOS dolls in your house that you play with regularly.
