Let it go
These last 11 years and three terrible hires have been hard on everyone who eats, breaths and sleeps Gator football.
It is time to pull together and hope we get lucky with the next coach.
I seem to recall a former UF AD saying he kept a list in his pocket of his top five choices for a future football HC. And that's how we ended up with Will Muschamp......The AD should have a list of top 5 coaches for every sport and be updating it regularly. He should also have a plan a, b, c and "grab the oh-sht handle" for pursuing those individuals if ever the need arose.
did you also recall it was foley who made that statement? he could have been gift wrapped a top tier coach and would have f'd it up. Foley never should have been AD. That was the first problem.I seem to recall a former UF AD saying he kept a list in his pocket of his top five choices for a future football HC. And that's how we ended up with Will Muschamp......
Of course I remembered who it was. I just busting your balls.did you also recall it was foley who made that statement? he could have been gift wrapped a top tier coach and would have f'd it up. Foley never should have been AD. That was the first problem.
Any chance you are in the transfer portal? The last time we lost to Kentucky, we lost a RB to transfer.
Now, you would have a harder time finding him than it would to find Brian Laundrie.

I'm pretty sure he did. He just never updated the names. As soon as Shanahan was stop 2, and Zook was stop 3, we should've canned the guy on the tarmac.
Based on what?....The fact that the 3 or 4 stickman figures in front of you have hung around for about 8 years and know what flavor of donuts the coaches prefer before their morning meeting?Let's face the facts, if you are a 5* player and you are in your second year with this Gator defense, and you are not playing, you have ZERO chance of playing for a Power 5 contender.

If you are unhappy, Nebraska & Michigan State has an opening for you.
This was two+ weeks ago....I wonder how much longer the list of transfers post-season is going to get. Can you imagine wanting to stick around and play for this coaching staff another season (or longer)? Mullen's ego is going to crash this program harder than what's going on at FSU the last couple of years. You have to really wonder, what in TF is Stricklin and the UAA actually thinking? They watch Butters tank for 2+ years and only took action when they had to, but nobody sees what this ass clown is doing to the program? At least one of the parents is seeing it....
Butters wasn't Stricklin guy, how much extra leeway does Mullen get because he is Stricklin's guy.
We've discussed this in 10 other threads - but my opinion is Mullen gets 2022. Like Donk has said, when we get to the UGA game in 2022 and Mullen takes another Kirby Smart ass-raping, he's done. He's already lost 80% of the fan base....and counting. By UGA 2022, it will be just as bad as Butters vs. UGA 2017. I think we see some serious post-season attrition (transfers) and our roster will be FSU-ish in 2022. Hell, Mullen may decide to move on...but as we've discussed before, not many people making $7.6 million/year just walk away.
The question is how much leeway does Stricklin get after three megamillion dollar mistakes extensions jist weeks before firings.Butters wasn't Stricklin guy, how much extra leeway does Mullen get because he is Stricklin's guy.

Oh please. If this was that big of a deal, he would have already been dismissed. Lot of wishful thinking here.We talked about this last week, but it's going to be awful hard to justify retaining Stricklin after the woman's b-ball fiasco.
