The year is 2023. The Gators have just defeated Kentucky by the score of 21-17 in Lexington. The Gators set an NCAA record for running the ball 15 consecutive times on a 12 minute drive to run out the clock. Emory Jones finished his Redshirt Covid Extra Senior season with a passer rating of 41.7 on a 4-6 night passing for 27 yards. Coach Billy Napier was confused for a local Kentucky Meth head after opening his mouth and sounding even more hee haw than former head coach Butters. Gator Nation longs for days of the forward pass...

I think if he comes to UF he'll hire an OC. He took on the QB/OC role at ULL likely due to trying to spread out his assistant coaches money (he took on a role in order to use that money to bring in a better DC and/or other position coach). I think he realizes at a P5 he should be more CEO, less coordinator.....and least I hope so (if we hire him). Obviously he'll have input in the offense, but I expect an OC hire.
Are you sure that's why he's his own OC or are you speculating? Have you read that somewhere?

I'm speculating, but I've read it multiple times. His assistant's pool is limited at a place like ULL, by coaching QBs and OC duties he didn't have to hire those positions. It's actually shows pretty good management. He came there as an OC, so he likely just continued in that role. He has two "assistant OC's" listed on his staff:

Football Coaches - Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns

Look at the wr coach's profile. His highlight was his leading receiver had 360 yds :lmao: they shoulda left that out

There’s only one reason Napier’s getting this much run. Cost. We buy uncertain properties on the cheap and throw all sorts of money at them in hopes of turning a profit. It makes zero sense from a real estate perspective and even less from a football one.

Why oh why would we even consider taking a flyer at this juncture? Sorry to offend the Napier lovers out there, but I’ve seen this trap too many times.

How is Napier more of a "flyer" than the other stiffs out there?

If we do hire Napier. My favorite candidate for OC is the guy at North Carolina. Has a badass offense and nobody's gonna hire him away because he already failed miserably as a hc. I forgot his name though

Huh? Then who are you suggesting we get? Realistically?

I've certainly learned we have way too many Kiffy fans here in this thread.

So who? That is what they said about SOS and Urban. They said Urban's Spread would not work in the SEC...The D's were too fast.
