Makes me curious as to McElwain’s position coaching ability. He was definitely in over his head at UF. Hopefully there were some useful pieces to pick up. I’ve learned a lot about what to do and not do from flawed leaders.
Yeah we tend to cast these guys as incompetent buffoons after they have Peter Principled out, and don't let them have their reps back for doing what they were actually good at. There are countless examples of coaches who flamed out at the Team CEO level but were successful again when they went back to being middle managers.

That said, I would not hire Mullen as an assistant. At least not right now. He seems broken by his epic failure. I don't think that will stop Urban, though. I still think that's where he ends up, whether at Jax or Notre Dame.

I should probably check the ESPN coaching carousel update this morning before I say that, maybe Mullinz took the Akron job already lol

Following up on this post - he's followed pretty much every recruit in the SE (5-star kids and barely ranked 3-stars). I imagine he's trying to generate some buzz, get his name (and UF) in these kids heads (they all have teammates too, some younger who are 4 and 5 stars). I don't think he's followed any 2023 kids yet (I'm sure that's still to come from his recruiting staff).

Of note: since he's followed a lot of these kids he's getting follow backs (meaning the kid he followed chose to follow him back). Several 5-star kids: Shamer Stewart (6'5 270lb DL from Opa Loka, uncommitted), Kamari Wilson (IMG kid, #1 safety) as well as several 4-star kids (many are already committed, including 2 or 3 UGA commits).
There's a Progressive "we can't prevent you from becoming your parents" scenario here... ;)

Well, I guess not "everyone" slept it off... ;)
YOU WANNA GO, SARGE?? Get in the ring!

Actually the only good scene in that movie, if I remember correctly. :scratchchin:

Okay...and the part when he carried her out of the factory in the end. :heehee:

Love those ads, they crack me up every time.

I like commercials, but if I ever mention a funny one to someone, they usually say, "I never watch commercials anymore." Guess I'm one of the few who still does. I watch every Miami Heat game and a lot of Fox News in real time, and am too lazy to channel surf during breaks.

So what you are saying, now that you have bought a house you are becoming like your parents?

I think your pops is right. Jimbo is Mullening at 8-4, 4th place in the West,

He's a 4 loss loser who is scamming those dumb hicks in College Station for 9 million a year guaranteed for the next decade or so.
Yeah Jimbo got that one win in against Saban, he's the only former assistant who's done it, but with the rest of his season showed himself to be the exception that proves the rule.

I drove a '73 Ford Pinto station wagon in college. (It was a standard with genuine imitation wood paneling.) My sister had paid $100 for it and gave it me for free. It was a POS, but it was my POS!
Was it orange? I dated a girl in high school who drove an orange one (or maybe two-toned orange and white?) that was also a family hand-me-down.

I say "dated" to make it sound respectable, just in case it was your sister. Truth is I banged her in the back of said orange Pinto one time, after she gave me a ride from one house party to another. There was a surprising amount of room to move around in that little thing! And in the car, too.

It was a schitt brown. One of the ugliest cars I've ever seen. Ford should have been ashamed to see it roll out the door.

Anyone else wondering if interim HC Knox gets a call from Napier and is told to start and play AR15 in the bowl game? I'm guessing it happens.
Since you mention it, why are we letting that Mullen Minion run all those practices by himself?

I see that Oklahoma brought Bob Stoops down from the executive offices to be interim coach for their bowl game. Is there anyone upstairs at UF who could possibly play a similar role for us?

Hmm. Hmmmm. Let me think. Who could it be? :scratchchin:
