Absolutely great day (and hopefully weekend), but this is so misleading. The rating agencies have so many more guys in the blue chip category now. Compare % of top 300 guys for a more honest comparison.

I was going to mention that a finished class will ultimately get weighted down with some throw ins, and this year will likely be no different. We took guys like Robert Clark and Tyler Murphy toward the end of that cycle, which contributes to the percentages. Probably something similar this year. Still a fantastic class and, even with some areas that need attention like OL and LB, is far more balanced than that 2010 group.

I know many of us are hoping and still do for a top 10 / .92 avg. etc. But one thing that I am satisfied already is what he has addressed. For one, taking back the state and winning it from a recruiting standpoint. Most and possibly all but a few should come from FL. Now you throw in he is taking some from SEC rivals. And most of all what he is doing at IMG. This is such a change from what we have been accustomed to over the last few hires. Now with that said, I don't want to look at it like we're settling and this class and cycle are far from over. But it surely appears that Napier is not one to get complacent. So at this point, very pleased with this class and how the CBN and the staff are doing it.

Meyer also landed a crap ton Of top 100 players as well. We still have some ways to go, but this is a great start.

With the availability of good talent in the transfer portal and the fact that those transfers are initial counters, I'm not so sure that we or any of the other top programs continue to do this.

Let's just get these young men on campus. High school coaches and kids are talking about Florida again. Whatever BN is doing, he's doing the right way and people want to be a part of it. My neighbor who played for Clemson has a few kids from SC visiting and they all want to play for Florida.

Comparing "blue chip" players from two different eras is like comparing apples and oranges.

Especially ridiculous is comparing this class (5 months before ESD) and the #1 class in 2010.

The 2010 class had five - 5 stars. There were 13 recruits in the top 100.

This class has zero - 5 stars and only two top 100. (so far)

This year's class is shaping up well. The in roads made to IMG and the wins against Bamma and the Leghumpers are great to see.

But the "Blue Chip" ratio is very misleading.

If you look at rivals, which I still think of as the gold standard, they haven't inflated their rankings over time. They gave us 78% in both 2006 and 2010 (21/27). Today they have us at 68% (13/19).

And before everyone starts hating on rivals they do currently have our class ranked higher than any of the other services.

The momentum is what's great, as those still out there (or those who can be flipped) see the great stuff going on and want to be a part of it. I think we've got some great blue chippers still to nab.
