Hopefully he sticks. Get them both on campus & competing. Who knows which one will excel at this level? Exhibit A: Stetson Bennett.

Stars matter a ton in aggregate, class to class and for the program overall. But you never know on individual players. I just looked & Johnny Manziel was a 3* (so was Mike Evans, shockingly.)

Absolutely need to close as you said. 100%.
Not to mention Kyle Trask was a 2*.

My excitement over this isn’t an either or, my emphasis is on the position and it’s importance to the team in todays game. Are you taking a Bryce Young/Joe Burrow/Tua over a lockdown DB, which one gets you to January? Our current DB class can overcome missing a Cormani, however we can’t whiff on a game-changing QB which we were until today.
I think the question becomes: which pans out most of the time a) a consensus #1 DB and #1 defensive player in the country from Florida or b) a consensus 4th ranked QB from California?

Will the QB be a starter and gamechanger from day one? Joe Burrow wasn't. UToothless QB wasn't. Leghumper QB wasnt.

Will the CB? If he is, then he takes some of the heat off of a very thin, and very young DL. It will take time (a couple of years) to develop the DL physically.

The CB visiting this weekend may do the trick too. But he's (supposedly) not committing until ESD.

Cormani was supposed to be a lock. :(

Cormani isn't a random DB. He's a lock down DB. Not saying we don't need a stud QB , but we can have both. And Dls. And Safeties. And LBs. And everybody.
I'm not convinced at all that we won't eventually flip him, too. It's obvious he wanted to be a Gator his entire recruitment.

I may be wrong, but I think we’ll be getting Ricks’ last visit, just before ESD, which is great.

On CM, great player but not the same need, imo. And in terms of day 1 help, I’m still not sure a kid at 160 is ready for SEC playas a Fr. Hopefully we still get him.

To me, this flip is more of a win then had we simply landed him in the first place. I think Mario had visions for the program, including fan support, that looked promising over the summer but have not planned out. Add that to the fact that his QB play so far has been dreadful and he just sent a kid out who couldn’t even raise his throwing arm, and you may see this class implode. I’m still shocked that the Francis kid hasn’t flipped to the vols. I’d prefer he stay put for logistics, but he’d be insane to do so.

The optics on this is huge for Offensive skill players. Should help anchor our current receiver commits, and attract others as well.

This is fantastic. Stokes is definitely out of the class now unless he wants to walk on.

We've have a very solid db class already. Idk what this has to do with Cormani but this a way bigger commitment. We needed a qb badly in this class and got one . And at the same time we just ripped the backbone right out of Miami's recruiting class. I love it.

Unfortunately for Stokes, Billy is asking for a word.

If Richardson were to leave, we would be left with four total quarterbacks. And only two that were highly rated at all. I’m big on loyalty, especially for Florida kids, and for someone who reportedly wanted to be a Gator all along. I thought Stokes handled the process extremely well knowing that he was clearly our Plan B. From the moment we missed on Rashada in June, we flipped our attention to him and he wasn’t resentful at all. Immediately committed. I personally would like to keep him in his class .
