This is my actual senior pic, glorious buttcut and all. GHS baby! View attachment 51163

Not to get too personal, but what year did you graduate?

I was GHS ‘87, first team to make any success. Fell to Leon 1-0 in our last game, that put them in the final4. We had beat, and tied them earlier. The pic looks early 90s.

I graduated in 95. Pic was the same year. Beat Leon in sectionals my freshman year when we still had coach Kynast. Ended up losing to Seabreeze at state. That was the squad. Bill Kennedy, Rodney Leevy, Nils Gunderson, Craig Beckford etc. Needless to say I sat the bench.

Aye, knew that crew, knew they did one better than us. Respect.
Unfortunately after coach K left they hired some English drunk instead of Basil. Went downhill from there.

Honestly, I was never real impressed with him as a coach. Good guy, but not much of a coach. Tho, they consistently had crap JV coaches passing thru while I was there, so it seem the AD couldn't/wouldn't get decent coaches. All our best players learned from club in the off season.

I woulda figured a drunk English soccer coach (redundant?) would have been better than an American coach. I used to tell the admin. in Bradford county to go hire some South American to coach the gal's team there. As to the poster that said real murrican boys played HS football basketball etc. I played all of them from 9th grade on and soccer is a contact sport without pads basically. Played intramural soccer in grad school. Buncha yankee boys, He would learn quickly playing with 20 somethings, especially if they came from countries that played the game.

I may have taken one of your classmates to her senior prom.

OK, maybe two of them.

Alex.

UF won nationals a few years back and has always had a very competitive club team (we beat DI teams pretty regularly even back to when I was playing...and continuing into present).

I don't believe they had a club when I was there in '92-'94 for undergrad. But they did have intramurals. Me and some HS mates ended up winning all campus, something I was very, very proud of given how many players are at school there. Oddly, none of the mates on the all-campus team played travel except me.

If the Athletic Dept ever wanted to make a men's soccer program, we'd probably be one of the best in the country within short order.

Absolutely, without any doubt.

It's the oldest club in the nation--dates back until 1953. University funding has been...inconsistent, to say the least. The 80s teams were pretty good from what I've heard, but early 90s didn't seem to have a lot of participation or University attention.

After the women's team went from Club to National Champions in a few years during the late 90s, the University has sunk some decent money into it ever since--thinking that if they ever decided to do the same for the men's team, they'd have a good base to start from--but I think the priority is going to be football from here on out and until that gets back up and running, no additional sports will be added.

Get him playing football. Mine is 8 and has now played 3 years of tackle and is just starting his 5th season of flag. His growth has been amazing.

Tall, pretty brunette, very curly hair named Kelley. Maybe her last name was Phillips?

Tall, pretty blonde, well-endowed, beautiful eyes, great smile...not sure, drawing a blank....maybe Hannah? Her best friend was Kelley.

Class of ‘95 iirc. Not positive on the name. Positive about Kelley’s name though.

Alex.
I'll have to break out the yearbook, but I don't recall anyone by either of those names.
